Tristan blushed red when they hugged, smiling. They followed Damien over to the table, sitting beside him. “So, what now? Why’s this book so important?”
-
(important?” She asked, handing the man the book.**)
-
Damien took the book, and flipped it open. He was looking a for a specific page. He glanced up at Tristan, aware that he may have looked like a maniac; flipping through the pages. He finally found it, near the end. The spell (for a lack of better words) took up two pages. The was an incantation on the first half of the the front page, following by a sigil that would need to be drawn on the floor with white chalk (or something similar). Damien took a piece of parchment, and started to write the information down. On the second page, it gave instructions on the user of the incantation giving a sacrifice of tears. Those tears would then be placed within the sigil, and both Damien and Tristan would have to make a declaration and say an incantation together.
As Damien translated this onto the parchment paper so Tristan could read it, he couldn't help but feel like something was wrong. -
“So, uh- what- what exactly does this spell do? What’s it for?” Tristan asked, confusion on their face and a hint of nervousness in their voice.
-
"This," He said, scribbling the last of the words down. "Will allow us to summon your angel." He pointed down to the bottom of the second page, where there was an illustration of the wheeled angel Ezekiel has seen in the old testament of the Bible. Damien closed the book, and handed it back to Tristan. "The only problem now, is finding a place that is safe to do the spell."
-
“Could we not do it here?” Tristan asked, taking the book back. “Or maybe we go back to the cabin? Or maybe that wouldn’t be safe, since that witch-demon lady most likely had been there looking for us after we left-“
-
Damien nodded, thinking about going back to the cabin. He didn't like the idea, but if he was being honest their options were limited. "The cabin would be our safest option. I don't know many other places." Damien wasn't sure what to do, but the best they could do, was take it one thing at a time. "Let's go take the book back, and plan for heading back to the cabin." He looked at Tristan. "It seeks like the best thing to do right now."
-
“Got it,” Tristan said with a smile, nodding in agreement. “So, how’re we gonna get back? Are we gonna do that magical teleporting thing like last time, or?”
-
Damien looked at the ring around Tristans finger. He didn't have many uses left. Four at best, but traveling any other way would be time consuming. "We'll use the ring." He said, thinking about it briefly. He walked out of the room, his mind pre-occupied. He didn't notice Lila sitting at the entrance of the library. He waved Tristan over, and started to walk to the place where they had found the book. "I can't use any magic until we get out of the library. Unfortunately for us, this is a no magic zone." He chuckled slightly.
-
“Aw, boo,” Tristan said with a chuckle, subconsciously grabbing onto the sleeve of Damien’s shirt to keep in pace with him. “But like, isn’t this a magical library? Why is it a no magic zone if it’s a magical library??”
-
Damien looked at Tristan for a moment, as they put the book back. "This library is a place where everyone comes to learn. Demons, angels, succubi and cherubs alike. That, and I don't think the library would last long if everyone kept fighting. According to Lila, it has happened a time or two before. Mainly over some forgotten text or something." He said, shoving the paper he had written the instructions on into his pocket.
-
“Ahh,” Tristan replied, nodding. “That makes a lot of sense, actually.”
-
He walked away from the bookshelf they were in front of, and pointed up. "See there?" He pointed to a taller individual that had a huge set of wings on their back. "That is an archangel. They come here to do research mostly." Damien yawned slightly. "Why they do research has always been beyond me, but one never knows."
-
Tristan giggled softly, nodding. They glanced over at Damien, hearing him yawn. “Did you get any rest earlier?” They asked, a hint of concern in their voice.
-
Damien nodded. "I got enough, I promise." He said, walking toward the entrance to the Library. Yhis is where he finally spotted Lila, along with Asmodeus at her side. He felt annoyance and anger spark his bones. You've got to be kidding me. He thought about what to do. If they approached Lila directly, there was a chance Tristan could get caught in some ungodly cross-fire between the two of them. He had to think....
