Damien stood up, and stretched. He took one more look out the window, and his heart leapt out of his chest. He could see Lila in her demon form in the distance. "s---....." He muttered, trying to gather his courage. He ran upstairs. "Tristan, I need you to get up." He said, loudly and urgently. He called Sapphire to his side, and ran quickly downstairs. He could see another figure lurking behind Lila, further away in distance, but he would recognize that face anywhere. It was Asmodeus. Damien scrunched his face up in disgust. He knew they would be after him, but Damien didn't think Lila would sink that low. He ran back upstairs, looking into the guest bedroom. He spoke the same words before, hoping a temporary barrier might hold them off.
-
Tristan jolted awake, panicked by Damien’s urgent voice. They stumbled out of bed the second time and rushed over to the boy, panic on their face. “What’s going on?” They asked, trying to keep a level head and not have a nervous breakdown.
-
"Lila is back, and with a little more reinforcements. I have a temporary sheild over this place. It should give us a couple of minutes once they actually get here." Damien paced the room. They could always go to the Library, but that came at a downfall as well. Lila knew about the Library. "Here's the game plan, I am going to get us to the Library. We are going to look for a book. It is solid white, with gold leaf inlay. It's about the size of medium sketch-book. I don't think it will be to hard to find, but who knows. The Library seems to constantly change." Damien looked at Tristan, hoping they understood the importance of finding the book. At the very least, Tristan could work on finding the book, and Damien could hold off Lila. But if anything, he knew she wouldnt want to cause a scene, especially in a place like that.
Damien kept glancing outside. "What do you say? Want to get this adventure started?" He said, a mischievous smile etched across his face. -
Tristan watched Damien for a moment, nodding a bit hesitantly before it became certain. “Let’s rock this b----,” they said with a smirk, giggling softly. “So- how exactly do we get outta here without that demon-lady noticing?” They asked, looking around for a moment.
-
"As always, a little magic tends to help." He held up his right hand that had the silver ring on it. He didn't exactly know what the limits were on this ring, but he did know it didn't have many uses left. He grabbed onto Tristan's hand with-out thinking and thought about the Library. He knew it wouldn't take them directly to the Library, but it would take them close. Damien muttered some words under his breath, and before he knew it, it seemed like they were floating through time and space. Damien started to feel a little light-headed. He had never used the ring this much in succession before.
As time seemed to slow to a stop, before they knew it, they were at the library. Damien looked at it in awe, like it was the first time he was seeing it himself. It was one of those places that you could never get tired of seeing. The library was hidden within a cave that was between worlds. Normally, no other human would have access to this, which was going to lead into another problem. Damien looked at Tristan for a moment, and took the ring off his finger, and put it on theirs. "As long as you have a magical relic, you should be fine. I have been here before so they know I am under a contract." Damien had no idea if this were true, but hopefully it worked. Damien walked toward the front of the Library. There were curved arches that were carved in the stones, and in front of each door-way, there was a pedestal. On one, there was a gargoyle. It looked like one of those from Victorian-Era architecture. It's head swiveled around to scan everyone that was coming in. The only difference was it had yellow glowing eyes, and a set of very sharp teeth.
On the other pedestal there sat a stone cherub. It was the same size as the gargoyle, but it was made of white marble. It's eyes also glowed yellow, and it held a bow, a quiver of arrows was held on its back. -
“Oh. My. God-“ Tristan said with a look of awe, smiling as they looked around. “Can- Can I like, live here or something? Because this looks like my paradise~” They joked, giggling. They glanced down to see their hands intertwined and blushed, letting go after a short moment. “So uh, I- I need to look for a specific book or something, right?”

(I swear I thought I responded earlier 😭 Today has been crazy)
Damien nodded. "A white book, with gold in-lay. It's not going to have a title, so the front of the book and the spine will be blank." He said, walking toward the gargoyle statue. When they all got up to it, Damien muttered some words in a language that was unfamiliar to Tristan. The gargoyle nodded, and let them pass. As they passed the gargoyle, a set of door to the Library opened. It looked like something out of a dream. Damien passed through, into the library itself. It looked so much bigger one you were inside. First was the ground floor, which looked like your normal library. Once you got to the second floor, there were spiral pathways that led into their own section. Damien always thought of this place as a catacomb library because it was so big.
"You take one side, I'll take the other?" Damien looked at Tristan and asked quizzically. -
(xD you’re good! dw abt it!)
Tristan nodded, flashing a smile and a thumbs up at Damien before turning, heading off in search for the book. “White book gold in-lay, white book gold in-lay, white book gold in-lay-“ They repeated quietly, scanning the books on the shelves as they walked. -
Damien watched as Tristan walked off . He hoped the ring that he gave them would keep them safe, if anything were to happen. He turned around to look in the opposite direction. One thing that Damien absolutely adored about this place was how pristine this place looked. He knew the Library was older than him for sure, but whoever maintained it kept it looking brand new. The books, and texts that were concealed here never seemed to age. He admired each of the shelves that seemed hand-carved. He took a deep breath, then shook his head. He was here for a purpose, and it wasn't to admire the artwork (this time). He started to scan the shelves, but nothing stood out to him.
----------
Lila and Asmodeus stood at the front door to the shack that had housed Damien and Tristan a couple of minutes ago. Asmodeus; who was still in his human form just shook his head. "Always a second too late, but never a minute too soon." He said, twirling a walking cane in his hands. Lila rolled her eyes, transforming back herself. "At least we are hot on their trail. Where are they?" She asked, quite demanding like. Asmodeus shook his head. "You know, I don't have to help you. In fact, you can count this as me giving you a favor." Asmodeus looked at Lila, his eyes stone-cold. "But, for the sake of us not having to argue, give me a minute." -
Tristan fiddled with the ring Damien put on them, spinning it around their finger idly as they walked. They paused every once in a while when they thought they found a book at matched the description he had given then, only to be disappointed by it not being the book
-
Damien walked in the opposite direction, Sapphire following quietly behind. Damien scanned the shelves quickly, but unable to find the specific book they were looking for. He walked by shelf after shelf, and book after book. He was starting to get discouraged. He knew it was here. It had to be. He made his way up a set of stairs, to the second floor of the Library. There seemed to be more people on this floor, but Damien didn't mind.
-
Tristan soon found their way upstairs, continuing to scan for the book. They slipped past people as they scanned the shelves for the book, starting to lose hope. If I can’t find it, then what? Will the rest of the plan not work? What’ll happen to Damien?? They exhaled and started to walk but paused, the binding of a white book catching their eye. s---- Is- is this it? I really hope so- They grabbed onto the book, pulling it out of the shelf.

(Ooooooooooo owo)
Damien walked along the second floor, avoiding eyes contact with most of the beings that were there. This library was huge, and he was worried about not finding the book at all. If only Lila was on his side. She knew so many spells it was unreal. He took a deep breath, and kept scanning the shelves. Little did Damien or Tristan know, Lila was on her way. And she wasn't happy. -
Tristan gasped and smiled, turning the book over in their hands. “I think this is it!” They smiled and looked around, going to search for Damien.
-
Damien kept walking past person after person. He was consumed by his own thoughts for a moment, but he spotted Tristan down below, book in hand. His heart almost leapt out of his chest. They actually found it! He quickly made his way back downstairs, and met up with Tristan, giving them a tight hug, then letting go quickly. "Now, follow me!" He said, making his way around the back of the library, to a small room in the back. It had a circular table, and some paper with a quill pen on the center. He sat one chair, and held out his hand for the book.
---------
Lila stood at the front of the library and stormed past the gargoyle. The gargoyle looked at her for a moment, opening its mouth, then closing it. The doors opened, and in she strode in her human form. Asmodeus by her side. He was in a solid pink suit, with black lace trim. His cane, held in his right hand. Lila took a deep breath as she surveyed the library. In technical terms, she had no authority here, so she could look for Damien and the human he had with him, or she could play the waiting game. She sat near the entrance, in a chair that was placed next to the door. She crosses her arms in front of her chest, and sighed. He would be back this way eventually.
