Ernest looked around the house. "Is this a second house or something?"

‘No,’ Mahina responded. A very small, very fluffy dog ran over to Mahina, barking. ‘Hello, Gloria,’ she cooed, picking up the dog.

"Those 'beware of dog' signs were very misleading." Ernie chuckled, extending his hand out to pet the little dog.

Gloria barked aggressively at Ernest. Mahina giggled.

Ernest pulled his hand away. "Alright, jeez!" He laughed.

Gloria nuzzled her head into Mahina, who laughed. ‘C’mon,’ she said, walking further into the house.

Ernie followed. Gloria looked at him with a very suspicious expression. "I don't think Gloria likes me at all."

‘Me neither,’ Mahina chuckled. ‘She’ll warm up to you.’

"I promise I'm very nice." Ernie said in a little baby voice. Gloria growled.

Mahina laughed. She pet Gloria.

Gloria seemed pleased by that. "How am I supposed to get her to not hate me?" Ernest chuckled.

‘I dunno,’ Mahina laughed.
‘Is that my favourite niece, Nina!’ a voice called from another room.
‘Yup! I’m your only niece!’ Mahina laughed. -
Ernie didn't say anything, not wanting to butt in.

The man laughed. ‘Who’s with you, Nina?’
‘A friend.’ -
Ernest smiled at that, glad he was considered a friend. "Hello! I'm Ernest!"
