Hunter held his knees close to his chest, staying in the shade where it was safe. He shouldn't have been out in daylight in the first place, he figured, but it was too tempting. -
Eleanor approached her road and noticed a stranger sat by her neighbours house. That was strange, she knew all of her neighbours and their hadn't been any new people moving in that she could remember.

Hunter sighed. Maybe he could stay here until nightfall. The shade was considerably safer than the sunlight. Hunter saw he'd dropped his unbrella. It was right in front of him, in the sunlight. He didn't dare grab it.

Chanelle finally caught her breath, grabbing her backpack which she placed on the ground. She was in a street not far from home, but not a street she knew. She looked around, suddenly she saw Eleanor, a girl she's seen at school, though she didn't really know her.

Eleanor spotted Chanelle further down the street. She didn't know her very well but she'd seen her around school. She gave a small smile at her then turned her attention on the stranger outside her neighbours house.

Hunter didn't noticed the girl watching him. He was focused on the umbrella in front of him. Maybe he could, very quickly, reach out and grab it. Maybe the sun wouldn't get to him.

Chanelle felt nervous when she saw Eleanor looking her way, but she managed to smile back in reply. She wondered what Eleanor's eyes were so fixed on, so out of curiosity, she slowly walked further down trying to not make it obvious.

Eleanor, with her sharp eyesight noticed the stranger staring intently and some sort of umbrella. She silently wondered why he didn't pick it up.

Hunter huffed and looked away from the umbrella. He noticed out of his peripheral that a girl about his age was watching him, and watched her questioningly.

Eleanor eyed the umbrella then heard footsteps behind her and spotted the girl from her school walking up the road. Her cheeks flushed pink. Great two people I barely know at once.

Chanelle glanced at Eleanor, then she turned her eyes to the stranger who she's never seen before. Did Eleanor know him? Was he her neighbour? Chanelle had so many questions she wanted to ask, but stayed silent, she couldn't even speak to anyone she hardly knew. She just stood there staring.

Hunter frowned at the girl, then noticed another stranger watching him. He would've left, but it was still very light out and there wasn't enough shade.

Chanelle saw the stranger looking at her. She blushed because he probably knew she was staring at him, so she quickly turned her eyes to the ground. Her heart was beating fast, she hated being around strangers.

Hunter's frown deepened, but he looked away.
