Jayd noticed how forced his smile was. "Hey, don't pretend to be fine around me, ok?" He slowed his walking and cupped Chester's cheek in his hands, giving him a small kiss on the nose.

Chester sighed softly, leaning into his touch. 'Alright,' he mumbled. 'Let's just go, okay? I don't want to let myself overthink this.'

Jayden nodded. "Yeah, c'mon." He kept walking until he stopped at the surgery room. "After you, darling."

Chester smiled softly, opening the door and walking inside. Oliver had set up the room with a bed and a table with tools scattered over it. Chester avoided looking at the tools. 'Hey, Oliver.'

"Hey. You ready?"
(do you want to timeskip at some point?) -
Chester nodded, taking a deep breath. 'Yeah, I'm ready.'
(yeah, maybe to after the surgery now?) -

After a long couple hours of waiting for any sign of the surgery to be done or effective, Oliver checked his watch. "He should be done now, once he wakes up. He may go through a few of the symptoms in the next hour or two." -
Chester’s eyes, after a few minutes, flickered open. He stared up at the ceiling with a blank expression. ‘J-Jayden?’ he said in a quiet voice. ‘Is it finished? Did it work?’

Jayd nodded. "Yeah, it worked. You alright?"

Chester nodded, taking a deep breath. He smiled softly.

Jayden walked over to him and kissed the top of his head before looking at Oliver. "Is he allowed to get up?"

Oliver nodded, watching Chester. ‘If he doesn’t feel too much pain,’ he said. ‘He’ll have to stay under my watch for a few hours, though.’
Chester clenched and unclenched his fists, and slowly forced himself into a sitting position. ‘Agh, f---,’ he muttered, rubbing his back. His head throbbed. -
Jayden grabbed his hand. "You ok?"

Chester nodded, breathing in through his teeth. He squeezed Jayden’s hand tightly as he stood up. The first thing he noticed is that he seemed to be at his normal height. He looked at Oliver. ‘Do you have a mirror?’

Oliver grabbed a compact mirror from his pocket. "That's the best I got."
