Blood poured from Astrid’s nose. He glared at Chester. “Fine, but you’re just lucky I’m wearing a nice suit, and getting it ruined by blood would suck.” He stormed off to grab a tissue. Jayden closed his eyes and took a deep breath before handing Chester his pocket watch.

Chester took the watch and tucked it in his pocket, then wrapped him in a hug. He ran his fingers through his hair. 'You ok?' he murmured.

Jayd gave a small nod, burying his face in his shoulder. “I’m fine. Are you?”

Chester nodded, sighing softly. ‘I’m fine.’

Jayden smiled. “Did you just punch my brother?” He chuckled.

Chester smiled, kissing the top of his head. ‘Maybe.’

“You’re amazing.” Jayd mumbled.

Chester laughed softly, phoenix wings wrapping around him. ‘Thanks.’

“You’re welcome.” Jayden smiled. “I’ll miss short Chester though.”

Chester rolled his eyes, kissing the top of his head again. ‘Oh, shush.’

Jayd looked up at him. “Do you want to go to my room?”

‘That’s probably for the best,’ Chester murmured.

Jayden nodded, though he didn’t pull away from Chester.

Chester smiled, kissed his cheek, then picked him up. ‘So how’d the meeting go?’

Jayd sighed. “Don’t remind me.”
