Jayden gave a small nod. “Sure.” He smiled.

Chester perked up and kissed his cheek. ‘Thanks.’

Jayd smiled wider. “You’re welcome.” He said, happy now that Chester seemed to be feeling better.

Chester wrapped his arms around him from behind, burying his face in Jayden’s hair. Everything’s okay. You’re not going to lose him.

Jayden let him, closing his eyes.

Chester pressed a kiss onto his neck. ‘Wanna stay up or sleep?’ he murmured, pulling him close.

“Whatever you want.” Jayden smiled. “I’m not that tired.”

Chester caresses his cheek. ‘Let’s stay up a bit.’

Jayd nodded. “Ok.” He opened his eyes,

Chester smiled. ‘I love you.’

“Love you too.” Jayden smiled.

Chester sighed - in possibly relief - and murmured, ‘Are you still scared of me?’

Jayden didn’t answer for a while, trying to figure out his jumble of emotions he’d had over the day. “Hardly.” He said quietly.

Chester smiled. ‘Hardly? That’s an improvement to yesterday,’ he said happily, booping Jayden’s nose. ‘I’m happy for us, love.’

Jayd blushed, smiling. “Indeed it is. I’m happy too.” He leaned into Chester slightly more.
