'Ideas which could kill somebody!' Chester exclaimed. 'Honestly, I don't know how you've not set fire to your own castle yet!'
-
"Bold of you to assume I haven't." Jayd laughed. He hadn't really- He just almost set the library and definitely set the courtyard on fire.
-
'I'd prefer to think I don't have an arsonist in my castle,' Chester said.
-
Jayden rolled his eyes. "Alright, we don't have to do a firework... But we could definitely unscrew all the lids to the salt shakers. That's hardly any chaos."
-
'No,' Chester stated. They got to the weapons room. He opened the door and walked inside.
-
"Ugh, how do you live like this?" Jayd complained. "No chaos is boring!"
-
'It's not boring,' Chester said. He couldn't find a positive word to describe it so he just left it at that.
-
"Riiiight." Jayden said sarcastically, putting his bow away and picking up some daggers, looking at them like they were a new pet instead of a dangerous weapon.
-
Chester hung up his bow again and returned the spare arrows to where he'd found them, eyeing Jayden suspiciously. 'What are you doing with that?'
-
"Nothing." Jayd said with a confident smile, twirling and waving the dagger around. "Just playing around, no reason to worry."
-
Chester narrowed his eyes at Jayden but huffed and walked towards the door. 'I'll leave you to it, then,' he said. Once he'd left the weapons room and was down the hall he shapeshifted into a phoenix and flew through the halls.
-
"Wait, don't go!" Jayden called out. He hated to admit it, but he liked hanging out with Chester- or annoying him at least. Plus he didn't want to get lost and have to ask one of the servants where his room was. That would be horribly embarrassing.
-
Chester heard the shout and flew back to the weapons room, he hadn't gotten very far. He reluctantly shapeshifted back into a human and poked his head into the doorway. 'Yes?'
-
"Can you stay?" Jayd asked politely, surprising himself. "I'll tone down the chaos talk, I swear." He knew he probably couldn't keep that promise, but if it got Chester to stay then it might be worth it.
-
Chester considered that a moment. Jayden seemed fairly entertaining to talk to, even if it meant Chester had to stop him committing arson. 'Alright, if you wish,' he said, stepping back into the doorway.
