"Do you want me to climb up and grab the arrows?"

'Do you?'

Jayd shrugged. "Sure."

Chester jumped up and grabbed one of the arrows. He wasn't sure how Jayden would react to his phoenix form, and it wouldn't do any good for him to be scared.

Jayden smiled. "Thanks!" He said happily.

Chester grabbed the second one and gave one of the arrows to Jayden.

Jayden grabbed the arrow, picking at the sharp tip.

Chester put his arrow back in the bag around his waist and looked around for something to shoot at.

Jayd poked at the tip hard enough that it stabbed his finger. "Ow!" He said, trying to wipe away the drop of blood.

Chester blinked. His eyes flashed a red for a split second, then went back to its usual colour. 'Are you OK?' he asked.

Jayden noticed the change in the eye color and backed up a step. "Yeah, I'm alright."

'Good,' Chester said. He glanced down at Jayden's bleeding finger. 'How'd you cut yourself in the middle of the woods?'

Jayd held the arrow. "I poked my finger on this like an idiot."

'Right,' Chester said, nodding once.

Jayden cocked his head curiously. "What was with your eyes?" He asked.
