Jayd frowned. "Well, I've never met your parents, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think they'd be more disappointed in how your family has spoken to you."

Chester picked at the skin on his hands.

Jayden took his hand. "Stop that." He said quietly, looking up at him. "Did they ever treat you like that before they died?"

Chester shook his head. 'I-I don't think so..'

Jayd frowned slightly. "Do you just not remember it much?"

'I-I don't know. I don't think they did.'

"Okay." Jayden took his hand gently. "I can be the one to yell at them, if you want."

Chester let him, looking down. ‘Thank you,’ gen he mumbled.

"No problem." Jayd kissed his nose. "Anything else I can do?"

Chester leaned intently his touch, smiling slightly. ‘Not really,’

"Alright." Jayden held him close. "I love you."

Chester hugged him tightly. ‘I love you too.’

Jayd beamed. "Do you want to go back to your room?"

Chester nodded, giving a small smile.
