"yes. The creator oversaw my trail week and my fitness tests. He also brought me food up to my one year mark." Florence said. Florence had started pacing again but more as a thing to do rather than from any worries.

'Did he just all of a sudden leave one day?' Collins asked. It didn't seem like something someone would want to do if they liked Florence and the other creatures, at least not against their will. 'With no explanation or context, he just disappeared?'

"yes. All the researchers left one by one so I don't know when the creator left. All I know is that the assistant researcher said that he left because he hated us. I know that's not true which is why I know he's coming back." Florence said. He walked over to the robot and looked into it's mechanical eyes before stepping back

'And... if he doesn't?' Collins asked. She knew she'd already asked this question, though.

"he will come back. He has to." Florence said. Now he was worry pacing. He started to chew on his red hands.

'Don't chew your hands, please,' Mildred said. 'It's bad for them.'

"What else am I supposed to do?" Florence asked as his eyes turned a strange muted orange color. He tossed his weight between his hands as he tried to balance his walking -
'Chew something else. Like electric wires or something,' Collins said.

"there's no particularly good wires in this room." Florence said as he paced, awkwardly jumping around.

'Or come pat Marco. Petting dogs can be very therapeutic.'

"Marco is sleepy." Florence said. He kept pacing awkwardly before flapping his wings and stretching.

'Still very therapeutic,' Collins said. 'Come and sit down.'

"I don't want to." Florence said. He then laid down on the floor and rolled in the dust.

'Why not?' Collins asked. 'You don't have to pat the dog but I do have some food left in my satchel.'
