"Well if you let me pet you I'd hang out with you more!"

Umbreon hissed again.

"You should meet him! He's really nice!"

Umbreon meowed and moved off Eli's book.

"Thank you!" Eli said with a laugh. Umbreon just glared at them with his huge yellow eyes.

Meanwhile, Callum flopped down on the couch. There was a crash upstairs. He winced.
'I hope that wasn't the good plates,' Claudia said. -
Eli looked at Umbreon. "Any idea on how to get to Land of the Freaks?" They asked, and didn't get an answer.

'Or my figurines,' Callum said.
'Or that weird vase Great-Aunt Grizelda gave us,' Callum's father said.
'I thought that was a bowl,' Claudia said. -
"The bowl-vase." Callum's dad compromised.

'I thought it was some kind of abstract sculpture,' Callum said. 'It's supposed to be a vase?'

Claudia shrugged. "We'll never know."

They looked up at the ceiling. There was another crash, like the sound of glass breaking.

"That was definitely something important." Callum's father said, going up the stairs.

He came back after a bit. 'It was the vase-bowl-abstract-sculpture Great-Aunt Grizelda gave us.'
'Thank God,' Claudia muttered.
