'Right,' she said, releasing Eli.

“Thanks.” Eli laughed. “Did Umbreon miss me, or was he glad to have my room all to himself?”

Eli's mother laughed. 'Probably the latter.'

Eli sighed. “Well, he’ll have to start sharing a room with me again.”

'I'm just glad you're home,' she said softly.

Eli smiled. “I’m glad to be back too. Getting lost wasn’t as fun as you might think.”

'I can imagine. Have you eaten?'

“Not today…” Eli said, trying to think of the last time they ate.

'Come in, I'll get you some lunch,' Eli's mother said.

“Mom, you don’t have to-“ Eli said before tripping on Umbreon as they went inside.

'Devil cat,' Callum mumbled.

“Not a devil cat.” Eli said, picking Umbreon up. “Umbreon, show him you’re not a devil.”
-
Umbreon made an angry meowing sound. Callum chuckled.

“Unbreon, at least pretend you’re not a devil!”
