(yeah imgBB is blocked, snipboard works tho, i just found that one 2 days ago)
-
(school out, just cause)
'What the-' Echo muttered, jerking her head up to look at her mother. 'Ew, no! Why would you even ask that?!'
(This is actually what my mother asks ALL THE DAMN TIME-) -
(mine too😂)
"well tell me how things are with your friends, what have you been up to lately?" she stands up to go do the dishes, and has he back turned while speaking -
(
-
'What friends?' Echo asked, finishing off her pancakes.
(I just pictured Carol telling Echo 'cos you're getting married 🤣) -
(she's so cute, she looks like she's part "hangs out at a saloon" and part "steampunk")
-
(haha)
-
("mwa ha ha you are getting married")
(that could be the reason she decides to go off in search of the center of the world tho)
"well it wouldn't hurt to make some friends now, would it?" she turns around and puts her hands on her hips. "you've been home all summer, reading. i want you to go find someone to hang out with. i need some alone time!" she huffs. "why not head to that new bookstore that opened up around here somewhere. on banana lane i believe. be careful though, there is someone named bob that hangs around there and for some reason will never leave banana lane."
after walking around for a while, Heath spots a wealthy-looking man striding confidently toward the restaurant. "and this is how i make my money." he smirks, and slinks over, "accidentally" bumping into the man while stealing his wallet and stuffing it in his pocket in one swift motion. "sorry sir, didn't see you there." he bowed and started walking toward a random saloon to sort through his "inheritance". the man glares at Heath with a look of hatred and disgust. "poor street rats like you shouldn't even exist!" he shouted after him. -
(I'm gonna ignore those last few sentences about banana lane 🤣)
Echo placed her plate in the sink, then looked back to her mother. 'It's not new, it's been there for a year. I've already read all the books in there, I finished a week ago,' she said, folding her arms. 'It's like you never pay attention to what I do,' she added in a quiet mumble, barely audible. -
(hey man, banana lane is very serious lol)
"well you never tell me anything that you do. i can't be expected to follow you around and watch you like a hawk wherever you go." Carol finishes washing the last few dishes and sits down on a stool. "what about the saloon on pineapple drive? i can guarantee you haven't been there before." -
(I'm also gonna ignore that last quote lmao)
'You already do,' Echo snapped, leaving the kitchen to go up to her room.
(When is Carol gonna tell Echo?) -
(tell her about what?)
Carol signs and hops off the stool, then starts writing a letter to who-knows-who -
(her mArRiAgE)
Echo entered her room, shutting the door behind her. She sat at her desk, an old wooden one with her hand-drawn maps scattered over it, as well as a few geography books she'd borrowed earlier that week. She pulled out a quill and dipped it in ink, before continuing a map of the world she'd been working of. The edges of the paper was labelled with "unknown" as no books had yet recorded what was there. -
(Echo's marriage, not Carol's lol)
-
(oh lol, i forgot about that 😂)
Carol finishes up the letter and heads upstairs, a bit scared of what reaction she will get. she brings he hand to the doorknob and waits for a few seconds before knocking. "Echo? i have something to tell you..."
