Echo chuckled. 'Alright, I'll have to take your word for it.' She followed Heath across the road and to the old building. The bottom floor was a bar and restaurant and the top was presumably the hotel rooms.

(gtg have dinner, be back in 20 mins)
-
*walks up to the person at the counter* "hey Mark," *fist bump* "can we get a room?" *gives money*
-
'Of course, mate!' Mark said, taking the money and sliding a key across the counter. 'Who's your girl?'
-
"this is my fiance, Echo," he puts an arm around her waist and kisses her forehead
-
'You're a lucky girl, Echo,' Mark smiled, writing something down in his notebook.
'I am,' Echo responded, leaning her head against Heath's shoulder.
'Well, youse have got room 23. Have a nice stay!' -
"thanks," he takes the key and leads Echo upstairs. "so that's Mark."
-
'He seems nice.'
-
"yeah, he sort of raised me." "for a little while. but then i thought that i had become a burden so i left." "he's pretty quiet in the sense that he doesn't talk a lot."
-
'Hm,' Echo said, nodding. 'I'm sure you weren't a burden. A little annoying, and cocky, but not a burden.'
-
"hey!" "that was so rude." he turns his head away, pretending to be overly offended
-
'I said a little annoying,' Echo smirked, knowing he was just joking. 'Here's our room, 23.'
-
"alright," he opens the door and puts his backpack on a hook. "do you know anyone in the town other than your family?"
-
'Mr Booker who works at my favourite bookstore. Mrs Lynde who seems to hate me. A few snooty girls from Sunday school,' Echo listed, taking off her coat and hanging it up, then smoothing down her skirt.
-
"i was just wondering who to thank for helping such an amazing person prosper in the world." he says kissing her, "though it sucks that someone hates you."
