Amira rest her head on Kai's shoulder, not saying anything.

Kai didn't say anything, he jus looked at her sadly.

Eventually Amira stopped crying and pulled away. "Sorry about that"

"It's alright." Kai said softly. "Are you alright?"

Amira sighed. "I will be"

"Tell me if you need anything."

"Okay, thank you" Amira tried to smile.

"Don't fake a smile." Kai said, wrapping her in a hug.

Amira hugged him back. "I, I need to be strong for Dalia, and if I can't feel it, I can at least look it"

"If Dalia needs a strong face she can turn to anyone else in this camp. You need to lay down and mull over everything."

"You'll look after her for me, just for an hour or so please?" Amira asked wanting some to to herself to mull over the fact her parents were gone and wouldn't come back.

Kai nodded. "Of course."

"Thanks" Amira gave a dry smile.

Kai nodded again, walking over to here Dalia and Aaron were.

Amira sat down on her mattress, her heart heavy in her chest.
