"Where's my phone?" Frankie demanded.

"That is for me to know and for you to find out." The man said smugly.

Frankie sighed. "Can I go home now? Or is there something I need to do first?" She snapped her voice wobbling slightly.

"There's something you'll have to do for me." The man said as another man appeared out of a door, holding some sort of invention.

Frankie gulped. "What, what is that?" She asked. "And why do you need me?"

"You'll find out soon enough." The man said with a small chuckle. The other man- the one holding the invention winced.
"Look, it'll be faster for both of us if you just quit it with the questions and follow me." He said in a squeaky voice. -
"Fine" Frankie snapped anxiety burning in her chest. She followed the two men down the hall.

The man holding the invention looked at the other man nervously, handing him the invention before walking to an odd machine larger than he was.

Frankie signed in frustration. "What is that?"

"You'll find out soon enough." The man working the machine said, fiddling with the buttons and levers until it whirred on, glowing blue.

"When can I go home? It's like, I don't even know the time" Frankie snapped.

"You can go once you stop asking questions and co-operate with us." The man working the machine said, nodding at the other man, who fired the gun looking invention at the machine, and a blueish film ran over the machine's hole in the middle, which was big enough to fit a human.

Frankie swallowed hard, her shoulders tensing. She nodded. "Fine"

The other man pointed at the hole in the machine that had the blue film over it. "This is a portal- or at least, our attempt at a portal. We won't know if it works until you test it out."

Frankie gasped then clamped her hand over her mouth. "Why me? It could be anyone in the world including yourself, but you had to pick me?"
