Her voice was drained suddenly, and she knew it was magic. She sighed, wondering why all adults do was talk down to her. She'd practically been raised at the Guild, and yet people thought she was incapable because of her age.
A family of four was cowering near their house, which was now destroyed. The mother cried in her husband's arms. The oldest child, the boy, shouted angrily, cursing dragons and kicking rubble. The little girl sobbed over a broken dolly. Akari sighed, and sat down next to the girl. She fixed the dolly with her magic and then stood up, facing the parents. 'Take the children and go,' she told them. The little girl hugged her legs and the family left.
'Note to self: Have a serious chat with Emrana,' she muttered to herself, then continued looking for Little Fella. -
Markings flashed over the monsters hide in response to the magic, before it flaired its own magic and Nullified the magical restraints, Lunging for Emrana with a other crazed roar, it's expression filled with hate and bloodlust as it made to rip her apart
Naydren looked up at the roar, having finished escorting his group away from the fighting, before he turned on heel and rushed towards it to try to assist the mentor -
The sound of a very angry road cut through the air. Akari winced, thinking that can't be good..
She ran to where Naydren and Emrana stood. 'What the hell was that?!' she shouted, pulling out her bow and arrow. -
[ Hey Nerd, I think you misunderstood a lil. Emrana's spell didn't drain Akari's voice, it blocked the monster and Emrana from hearing her yelling from outside.
It was more of a soundproof spell, hope that clears things up ^-^ ]
Vaguely, Emrana can hear the sounds of footsteps outside of the ruins. It doesn't take her very long to realise that those footsteps happen to be her students, when she hears Akari yelling.
Her eyes darken, realising the children are going to be endangered by this monster, and so she becomes serious.
" stay back! This monster is way out of your league!" She commands, worry in her voice. While she was positive she'd be able to pull through, she'd have a difficult time doing that if she had to protect the Rookies, and so it was better for them to keep away.
Then her focus turns back to the monster, as her eyes fade into pure black pools. Void drips from her eyes, as she quickly recovers from the nullification. " You aren't a dragon at all...are you?" She realises as she raises her hand, a magic circle forming over her palm as she harnesses the power of her Forbidden magic, Arc of Emptiness. " Then it's good they sent for me...I excell at dealing with wizards like you" She says simply before throwing the spell directly at the Dragon.
If the spell were to hit, it would nullify the others spell, and revert him back to his true form.
The void fades from Emrana's eyes as she stumbles back, having used her stamina to replace the mana that was still locked away. She digs her staff into the ground to remain standing.
" Now, let's see what you really are!" -
Naydren slid to a stop at Emranas yell, looking very worried and nervous as he caught sight of the beast, pulling his staff close to his chest
The monster continued to charge at her paying no heed to the magic, until the spell slammed into its chest, sending it toppling to the ground with angry screeching as it thrashed. The monster struggled against the magic for several seconds, screaming in rage and pain, before magic obscured its form as it began to shrink and shift, leaving a emaciated dark skined man in worn down attire on all fours in the rubble. The man stated still for a few moments, his ragged breathing clear to hear in the newfound silence, before he yelled, seemingly in frustration, grabbed the nearest rock and threw it at Emrana -
(Sorry for misunderstanding, thanks for clearing that up!)
Akari chewed the inside of her mouth and aimed her arrow at the man, mainly for her own comfort. She watched as the man struggled to his feet, and reached into his robes for his wand. When he pulled it out, he threw another rock at Emrana and started running away.
When she realised she'd been holding her breath, she exhaled slowly, trying to slow down her heart rate. She still held her bow at him, trying to comprehend what had just happened. They watched as the man ducked behind what left of a building, and then threw a rock at Akari. She ducked it and aimed her arrow for his arm, then let go. The arrow shot through the air, and whizzed right past his arm, cutting off a bit of his skin. -
Nerd the man is my character, you can't control him.))
-
(I'm really sorry, Phoenix, I didn't realise. Just ignore that last paragraph)
-
Emrana is quick to restrain the Man, her void magic working to bind his hands to make use of his magic impossible. " That's enough. I think its time you settle down, and tell us what exactly your goal was here." She says calmly as she holds onto him tightly, so he can't escape.
Her eyes snap up to the Rookies, displeased to see that they ran into the ruins even after her order to stay away. " did you locate all of the survivors?" She asks tone even, as her eyes go back to watching the man. -
The man bares his teeth and snarls as he is restrained, a very familiar Mark visible on his chest through his tattered clothes "f--- you" he spat, sounding like he hasn't spoken in a fairly long time
Naydren nodded at Emma question "yeah, we did, thats why we came to help you!" He said, eyeing the man in wary curiosity -
Akari held up her bow and arrow, aiming for the man, though she didn't shoot. She did this mainly for her own comfort. She didn't speak or take her eyes off the man. She'd never seen someone like him before, and her expression changed quickly from fear to curiosity.
-
Emrana shakes her head as she moves to tend to the mans injuries. "You're from our guild." She says calmly, as she frowns at how sickly he looks. " What happened to you, dear?" She asks him sounding kind.
" We'll need to take him back to the guild for questioning." -
Recognition flickers in the man's eyes at her words, but is quickly overtaken by rage as he starts hissing and spitting in a feral manner, struggling to get free of the magical restraints. "Dont f---ing touch me flee ridden sheep!" He snarled, snapping his teeth when she got close
Naydren looked confused and worried, hesitantly coming closer and opening up his bag "I have some bandages, Emrana" he said quietly, flinching a little at the hissing -
Akari stayed back, not wanting to get involved. If the man suddenly broke free and started throwing rocks and kicking and punching, she wouldn't know if she should fight back or defend; the fact that he was also in the guild but trying to hurt them confused her.
And what would she do, anyway? Most adults at the guild didn't like the fact she was only 15 and one of the praised members. They often called her a rookie or told her, 'This is adult business. Go home kid.'. She didn't want the man to get the wrong impression about them. -
Emrana looks pained at his snarling, as she smiles gently. " it will be alright, young man. We'll get you help" She promises gently, as she moves to take the bandages from Naydren, working on getting the others injuries settled with. " Now, can you tell me your name? I don't remember ever seeing your face around the guild Hall." She says kindly
