Emrana spots Akari and walks over to her. " Ah. There you are. Come on, we're heading out on a job with our new team member." She says to the younger wizard.
Floss smiles at Naydren, seeming shy but rather pleased to have more friends, as the squirrel and owl bear hang close to their friend. -
'Ah,' Akari said, nodding. 'Actually, I was gonna go do a solo job. Thanks for the offer, though,' she said with a smile, and walked over to the reception.
-
Naydren looked sad at that, his tail thumping against the floor
-
" Ah well. It's a shame, the job I was considering taking is said to have...quote the promising reward." Emrana nods looking at the other two with a shrug. " right, let's go. And don't worry about Akari, at her current rank all jobs she takes will be super safe." She assures naydren
-
Naydren still seemed a little sad, but nodded in understanding, perking back up. "OK then, good luck Akari!" He called
-
Akari narrowed her eyes at the back of Emrana's head, then forced a smile to Naydren. 'Super safe,' she muttered in irritation. 'She obviously doesn't know how long I've been here.'
She turned back to the receptionist. 'Any jobs?' she asked, leaning against the counter. The receptionist typed in some letters and read from her page.
'Well, a child has gone missing nearby. Blood was found in her room, along with a bloodstained knife. We need a detective to figure out what happened to her,' the receptionist said, looking up at Akari.
'Cool!' Akari said, her face lighting up. She loved a mystery. 'Where are the available files?' -
Emrana smiles at the other two. " Right, we'll be taking an S class job. I had been saving it but...I suppose I am rather curious to see dragon slayer magic in a real fight." She laughs softly. Then she becomes serious.
" Guild jobs range from rank D all the way up to SS. Rookies like Naydren and Akari, who've been on at least thirty C class jobs are able to take on B class jobs alone, and with a higher ranked mage, like myself can take on A or above. " emrana explains to floss.
" This is the quest of the haunted Moor. Its on the verge of becoming a decade quest, a quest that has went unsolved for over a decade.
Those jobs are only avaliable to S class. Or...others with permission but thays unlikley to be granted by the master." Emrana explains.
Floss looks worried. " An s class job...I've heard about those from my uncle. S class wizards are...a whole different breed." They mumble. " how does it work?:
" Ah. Recommendation is required to get to the trial stage. If you pass the trial, the master promotes you." -
'They don't exist. And neither does the job. Go home, kid,' the receptionist snapped.
Akari huffed and stomped back to her room. '7 years of training, studying, fighting...' she mumbled under her breath. 'Just for this.' -
Naydren started looking nervous, his tail flicking back and forth " is that a good idea? Taking two newbies on a quest like that?" He asked, idly starting to pick at the scales adorning his arms
-
Emrana smiles gently and nods. " It'll be alright. I'm a capable mentor, aren't I?" She grins. She does seem disappointed however. " the reward is...one I truly want you to receive Naydren. One of a kind enchanted weapons. This is something to motivate my cute little students." She chirps before she heads out
Floss smiles brightly, and follows after Emrana excited to be instructed into the ways of a wizard. And to get a legendary item -
Naydren seemed to perk up at the mention of enchanted weapons, the bioluminecent markings on his tail glowing a tad brighter before he quickly followed after Emrana, looking curious now. "What kind of enchanted weapon?" He asked, skipping a little to keep up with the taller wizard
-
Akari sat back in front of her whiteboard, staring at the red string that connected photos and newspaper clippings. She gave an irritated sigh, thinking that she should've gone with Naydren and the others. It probably wasn't that good of a job, but a job nevertheless. She leaned back in her chair, narrowing her eyes at the photo of her mother.
Little Fella gave a small chirping sound, climbing onto the top of her head. -
It would take a few hours to get to the site of the job. The Moor is extremely vast. From the moment they stepped into it, they'd be surrounded by a tense atmosphere. Emrana's face is serious.
" this is your first taste of a real job. All the others I've been assigned to take you on...they're child's play. This one...this one is serious. " She says. " insubordination will cost your lives. Any order I give, you'll accept it." She says quietly as she begins to walk away.
Emrana wondered if perhaps it was too early to take the children on this kind of job. Her mentor had taken her on many, and it had made her much stronger, but it also brought her much sorrow.
Floss hums softly following behind Emrana. -
Naydren nodded in understanding, pulling his staff off his back to play with some of the beads, the claws of his metallic hand clicking against them. "...should I take those off? So they don't make to.much noise?" He asked nervously
