"Yep." Blaze rolls his eyes. "Her customers either don't like her at all or like her a little too much, and there's no in between."

'Interesting,' Amihan said thoughtfully. They watched as his mum walked into the house and disappeared through the front door. Amihan sat back down on his bed.

"Hey mom." Blaze says loudly, walking to his doorway. "Hey bud, I thought you were at school, in detention?" His mom calls back. Blaze's eyes widen as he realizes he doesn't have a good excuse and looks at Amihan for help.

'It was just a big misunderstanding,' Amihan said quickly, and stepped to his side, 'Blaze was just defending me from some bullies. He got detention for talking, and Mr Miller realised it was a mistake when we explained what had happened.'
She gave his mum her suck-up smile, the one she used around teachers, to enhance this lie.

"Ohhh, gotcha." Blaze's mom says, nodding. She walks away from the doorway, and Blaze sighs in relief. "Thanks. I didn't know how to get out of this one."

'All good,' Amihan said with a smile. 'Do you want yet another rematch? Or should we ride to the park?' She stepped backwards, sitting on Blaze's bed.

"I can NOT stand another defeat," Blaze says dramatically, "so let's go to the park."

Amihan laughed at that. 'Alright,' she said, standing up. 'Wanna take the bikes?' she asked, heading for the door.

"of course. maybe i'll be better on a bike and not run into the trees." he says, cracking a smile.

'Maybe,' Amihan laughed, walking out the door. They walked downstairs and to the inside entrance to the garage, where Blaze's and her bike were kept.

"but, seeing as i'm a complete klutz, i'm probably going to run into something." Blaze chuckled, hitting the button to open the garage door and swinging a leg over his bike.

Amihan chuckled at that, swinging her leg around her own bike. 'We'll see,' she said, resting one of her feet on her peddle, the other on the ground.

Blaze smiles at Amihan before taking off quickly on his bike towards the park.

Amihan followed him, pedalling fast to catch up to him.

Blaze looks behind himself at Amihan, then looks back in front, swerving fast to avoid a black cat crossing his path, which jumped back quickly and hissed at the passing bikers.
