"they'll understand when i tell them why." Blaze shrugs it off. "they always say i should stick up for people when something's or someone's not being fair."
-
'That's always your excuse,' she sighs. 'One day they'll get bored of it and punish you anyway. I can look after myself.' She tries to smile at him, then turns away to open Mr Miller's door. 'Good afternoon, Mr Miller,' she said to the teacher cheerfully, trying to suck up to him.
-
Blaze rolls his eyes and raises an eyebrow at the teacher as he takes his seat. he takes his homework out of his backpack, just for show, as he isn't going to do it.
-
She took off the brown leather bag that she had slung over her shoulder and grabbed her homework and a pen from it, then sat down and got to work. It was easy for her, as usual, and 10 minutes later she had it done.
-
Blaze shakes his head and sighs, glancing over at Amihan. "you do know it's called homework because you do it at home, right?" he says, snickering slightly. his phone buzzed, which he looked at immediately. "drat, mom's noticed i'm not home yet." he says, typing a quick explanation. his mom sent a rolling eyes emoji back.
-
Amihan glanced over his shoulder. 'Told you she wouldn't be happy,' she said. But you're lucky she cares, she thought.
She looked back at her work, completely neatly. She tucked one of her dark brown curls behind her ear and sat back in her seat. -
Blaze glances up at the clock, then back down at his desk, and sighs.he chuckles slightly. "Gotta tell the girls I'm in the market again." He says jokingly, referring to his latest breakup. "They'll be ecstatic."
-
Amihan chuckled, not looking at him. She knew that tomorrow all the girls would be screaming, 'PICK ME!!'. Then Blaze would make his choice and after a week they would've broken up. The reasons varied from, 'You're not paying enough attention to me,' and 'You couldn't care less about me,' to, 'You're best friend's a girl!!'. It was stupid, but so long as it didn't get in the way of their friendship, Amihan didn't mind it.
'So are you actually going to do your work?' she asked him, glancing down at his book. -
"as I said, it's called homework because you do it at home." Blaze answers.
-
'Wow,' she muttered. 'But if you do it now, you won't leave it to the last minute. Plus, it leaves more time to relax,' she replied, stretching her legs out under the desk, then yawned dramatically.
-
Blaze rolls his eyes, looks at his paper, then scribbles a few semi thought out answers under the questions, the stuffs it into his bag. "Happy now?" He wrinkles his nose at Amihan. After a couple seconds, his brows furrowed and he looks at her closely. "Hey, why have you never dated anyone?" He asks her.
-
She wasn't expecting that. For a moment, a startled expression came across her face, but she recovered herself quickly. 'Because all the boys are stupid. You've seen the way they act around me,' she said, referring to the kids like Milo.
-
Blaze started at her with a blank look on his face, then said "I'm a boy too, ma'am. Are you calling me stupid?" He says, then laughs. "But seriously, you've got to have met someone you like."
-
Amihan laughed. 'You know what I mean,' she answered. 'And no, like I said, all the boys are stupid. Why would I like them?'
And suddenly, this strange fluttering feeling started at the pit of her stomach. Something that made her confused. She'd never felt like this before, and it always came up when Blaze brought up this topic. -
Blaze dropped the topic after that. "Hey, wanna come over to my place after school? I've got a new video game you might like." He suggests. "It's a racing game, yes, but it's fun!"
