"I mostly stayed in my Orphanage, and the only contact from the outside world is when merchants visited." Ankoku says, shrugging. "So you're not the only one."

I give her a slight smile as we continue walking through the street past stores and food carts.

A scream echoed from a dark alleyway nearby where they were at the moment, but it was quickly silenced. "Did you hear that?" She says, alert.

When Ankoku looks at me, she sees that I am not there. Instead, I am leaping across the roofs towards the sound of screaming.

Ankoku looks around for a way up to the roofs, seeing a ladder on the side of a building. She quickly climbs up it and follows Akari, not as gracefully as the demonslayer.

I stop at one of the roofs and see that there is a newly turned demon in the street. I leap into the air and prepare an attack.
“Wild breathing, first form: Suger Glider’s flight!”
I leap down with my haori spread out like a suger glider with a sword in each hand. I slice the air as the demon Bailey dodged my attack. -
Ankoku stands on a roof a couple houses away, watching this in awe, not knowing what to do.

The demon growls at me and slashes at me which I dodge with ease. However, it’s next attack catches me off guard and launches me in to the side of a wall. A wound on my head bleeds and the blood seeps into my eye.

Ankoku gasps as she watches the scene unfold. She runs down the last couple roofs and jumps down, landing on the back of the demon, gripping the shoulders hard as she struggles to stay on.

The demon snarles and scratches at the dirt. I stand up and prepare my next attack.
“Wild breathing, 3rd form: Serpent’s serenade!”
I slash my swords in a vertical rotation, cutting off the demon’s neck and it starts turning to ash. -
Ankoku falls off of the demon as it flails, landing in the dirt, seemingly unscathed. "Are you okay?"
(I just realized they haven't even told each other their names 💀) -
(Just pretend that they did💀)
“I’m fine, just a bit of blood.”
I stand up, brush myself off, and sheath my swords. -
(K lol)
Ankoku stands as well, looking around. "If that was a newly turned demon, wouldn't there be a full one somewhere around here?" She asks cautiously. -
“Possibly, it’s best we search the rest of the city. You check it from bellow, I check it from above.”
Without another word, I leap up to the rooftop and run out of sight. -
"Alright then..." Ankoku says as she walks down the alley, peeking around corners before going around them in case the demon is near.
