Clay nodded, a bright smile on his face. "I'm happy to help. Use this to buy stuff. If you'd like, I can give you a home here. Your mommy and daddy would have to work, but I'd feed you. You can grow up here, and if you want when you're older, I'd let you go live your own life." He said, not caring if he did something out of the ordinary in the process of being kind.
-
Nick smiled as the girl jumped with glee.
"Go on now, go tell your family. We'll be here, kid!" Nick said as he stepped back. The girl nodded and rushed forward and wrapped her arms around the king. "Oh, thank you thank you!!" -
Clay smiled softly, hugging her back. "Of course. Now, go tell your family, and bring them back here. I'll be waiting to help you guys." The king said gently, happy to be making his own reputation, no longer living under the shadow of his father.
-
The girl broke away and ran out of the room, her expression filled with glee.
Nick turned to his lover and smiled. "Would you look at that, you didn't just scare her away!" He said sarcastically, remembering that one time Clay had accidentally scared a group of children while walking through the city. -
Clay sighed, glaring playfully at Sapnap. "Only because I look to much like my father." He said angrily. "I almost wish I could hide my face. People wouldn't be able know how much I look like him." He stood carefully, nervously fidgeting with his right wrist.
-
Nick flinched, thinking the anger was toward him. "I- I'm sorry. You dont need to hide your face, I-"
-
Clay frowned, glancing towards Nick. "Wait, no! Hey, Nick, please, I didn't mean it towards you!" He sighed shaking his head. "I'm sorry." He said quietly, dropping his gaze.
-
Nick shook slightly and stepped forward. "It's okay! I- I just misunderstood! It's okay!" He took Clay's hands in his own. "You don't need to hide your face. You look just as much like your mother as you do your father. You have her eyes and smile."
-
Clay dragged his eyes to Nick's face. "I love you. I really love you. Thank you, babe, I think I needed that."
-
"I love you too, so f**king much!" Nick responded happily. He moved closer and hugged him as tight as he could.
-
Clay sighed, hugging back. He rested his head on Nick's and smiled. "Hey, you remember when we were younger, and you told me I couldn't get up in the tree like you could? I couldn't and I fell down. I ended up breaking my wrist, although I kept telling you I was okay." He shifted slightly, nuzzling Nick's hair. "It still bothers me to this day. Gets sore at random times."
-
Nick jerked away and glared up at him. "I KNEW IT!! I KNEW YOU WEREN'T FINE!!!" He pushed Clay in the chest and scowled. "I KNEW IT!! I SAID WE SHOULD GO BACK INSIDE!!!"
-
Clay scoffed. "Oh, you know how I am!" He cried, his left hand tightening around his right wrist. "Besides, the brunt of the damage was done later, by my father. He thought it would be fun to know my wrist was broken-ish and proceeded to make it broken broken." The blonde rolled his eyes. "Most of my damage comes from my father. Others from the stupid s**t we'd do."
-
Nick's head snapped back toward Clay. "What did your father do?" He asked, his tone laced with anger and hatred.
-
Clay flinched back a little, frowning. "Well, I-" He shook his head. "Doesn't matter. Getting mad won't help. He didn't like me and you know that. I didn't fit his 'idea' for a king. I'm too kind, too gentle, too willing to help." The blonde rolled his eyes. "I also think he somehow found out we were together."
