Zumae frowned, watching the robot. "Who was that?"They asked quietly, inching forward.

"obsidian." Azura whispered. His download was almost complete. He wanted to run diagnostics on his faceplates but he knew that would probably upset zumae and all the other experiments in the biochemical ward

Zumae slipped their hands between the bars and frowned. "He's mean. And scary..." They thought for a minute. "How do these things close?" They asked, hitting the bars of the cage with one hand.

Azura's download finished. He closed his faceplates. "They can't be opened normally. Obsidian has to give you permission to leave and he usually only does that for two reasons, tests, or the vat." Azura said remorsefully

"What is the vat?" Zumae asked nervously. They didn't like the sound of it, or the fact that Azura sounded so upset by it.

"it's a big pool, filled with acid. Obsidian keeps his failed experiments in the depths of the acid. They torment you endless inside. Sometimes they fuse to your skin." Azura said his emotion auto programming prompting him to look sader and sader

Zumae whined, ears going down and shaking their head. "I don't want to go there! I want to get out before I have to go there!! I don't even know what I'm supposed to be!!" They cried, sighing. "If we can't leave, can you at least tell me about the outside?"

"well, it's much warmer there, although there are cold places. There are trees... Do you know what trees look like?" Azura asked

ZUmae gasped. "Noo, sounds pretty though. What is a tree?" They asked quietly, fidgetting a little

Azura smiled. "I'm glad you asked" he said as he opened his faceplates. On his screen was a picture of a tree with it's leaves getting blown around in the breeze.

ZUmae cchittered happily, smiling. "It's pretty. I like it!! What else is there up? Can I see?"

Azura decided to show snow next, then rain, then flowers. He laughed remembering seeing these things

Zumae smiled brightly. "It's all so pretty!! I like that! Were you there before? Were you up there before?"

"I... Have some memories of the outside. I remember being out there." Azura said closing his faceplates

"It seems amazing." Zumae said quietly, smiling at the robot. "I wish I could see it..."
