Nick was halfway through the tunnel now, and his lungs were SCREAMING for air. He reached up and tried to open the hatch, but something blocked it. What? NO!! He rammed his shoulder into it and bit back a scream. He'd forgotten about his injury. He lost a little air and peeped through the small crack in between the hatch and the ground. He could see the leaves of a tree branch. SH**!! I- I'm gonna have to- to go all the way... Nick grew dizzy as he continued on.

Dream forced the outside hatch open and swam through the tunnel. He tried to find Nick, fear possessing him. He was terrified that his friend would drown. He was terrified of losing him. Dream struggled to find Nick and was terrified of what he might find.

Nick's consciousness was fading as he reached the end. He couldn't see anything, so he weakly felt around for the latch so he could open the door. Please! P-Please! His hand scraped on a sharp, broken part of the door and he couldn't keep himself from the natural reaction of shouting. He lost any air he had left and floated limply in the water.

Dream panicked as he realized that he couldn't get the hatch in the middle to open. He started shaking and swam toward the end. Please don't let him drown. Please don't let him be at the back. There's no way he could hold his breath for that long.

A stream of blood rose from Nick's hand and he was unconscious. His lungs were full of water, and in less than a minute he was sure to drown.

Dream finally made it to the back of the tunnel and found his brother, unconscious, limp, blood streaming from his hand. He grabbed Nick's waist and tried to open the door. He found the handle and tried to open the door. He cut his hand in the process, but still managed to open the door. He pulled himself and Nick through, dropping on the ground and panting.

Nick laid facedown on the ground, still as lifeless as before. His face was pale and he wasn't breathing.

Dream coughed and flipped Nick over. "Nick? Nick!!!!" He pushed down on Nick's chest, hoping that he would be able to cough the water up. "C'mon, Nick!!! Breathe!!! Please, breathe!!!"

For a while, Nick had no response to Clay's efforts, but eventually, he coughed and rolled over onto his side. He threw up the water and struggled to breathe.

Dream sobbed, grabbing his brother and pulling him into a hug. "Nick! Please never scare me like that again. Please. Please. I though you were dead." He pulled Nick back and stared him in his eyes. "What were you thinking?!?"

Nick continued coughing and trying to breathe, and his eyes had a far away look. The kind of look one gets when they're lost in a daydream or at least just unaware. His hand still bled and he shook.

Dream shook his brother, and started to cry. "Nick, please! Look at me, tell me something, anything. I need to know you're okay."

Sapnap's eyes shifted over to the tunnel. He was still unresponsive to Clay but he flinched when his eyes reached the water itself.

Dream shook Nick harder. "Please! Nick, I'm worried. Please, answer me!!" He practically screamed. He started to shake violently and sob.
