"No... Please..." Nick's hands shook and his face paled as he looked up at Dream.

Dream slipped his arms around his friend. "I don't know. I hope not." He whispered, leading Nick over towards the edge of the crowd where they had a good view of the balcony.
Schlatt shifted, smiling cruelly. He couldn't wait to announce this and see the people's reactions. He would wait a few more minutes before starting what he had to say. -
"But what if Schlatt hurt him?" Nick asked weakly. He was barely aware of Dream guiding him or the crowd around them. His own pulse was too loud, his mind racing too fast.

Dream bit his lip. What if he's right? What if Schlatt did hurt him? He shook his head, hugging his friend. "Shh. Let's see what he has to say."
Schlatt cleared his throat and tried to sound upset. "I have some very heartbreaking news. The prince died this morning. The pain of losing his father was too much and he hung himself. I found him when I went in to check on how he was doing this morning. I was going to help him, but was too late. He was already dead." -
Nick felt his heart drop. Everything felt distant and even frozen. He went into a complete shock.
George stood next to his father, just behind Schlatt. He scanned the crowd for both Dream and Nick but didn't see them. (Don't let Clay see George until after I do smth okay??) -
(Otay)
Dream choked on his next breath, tightening his grip on Sapnap. "Nick, I'm sorry." He whispered, tears streaming down his cheeks.
Schlatt surveyed the crowd. Everyone was reacting the same way he expected. Bewildered, upset. Which was understandable because Karl could have ready killed himself if the grief had been enough. -
"No- No Please- NO!" Sapnap couldn't breathe and tears started streaming down his face. "It's not real- It's not real-"
George finally saw Nick, and he did his best to make eye contact with the prince's lover. -
Dream shook his friend slightly. "Nick. Nick. Listen to me. No way Karl would kill himself after promising to see you again. But that wouldn't stop ... him .... from ...." He didn't finish his sentence and started crying harder.

"I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG!!" Nick exclaimed. "I- I- He- My fault- I-"

Dream sobbed harder, moving so he was in front of Nick. He pulled his friend close, and apologized several times in his ears. "Nick, calm down. Please. I'm sorry. I don't want you to be in pain or hurt. I know this is one of the most painful things you will go through and I'm sorry!"

"I should hav- have gone back I LEFT HIM ALONE!" Nick's entire body shook and he sobbed. "It's my fault, I should have- I-"

Dream shook his head, carefully picking Nick up. "Let's go home. There's no reason to stay here." He squeezed his friend tight and sobbing harder himself

Nick glanced up and saw George, somehow both frantically and discreetly waving at him. He barely registered it and sobbed harder. "I left him alone-" He repeated over and over again as he sobbed.
George silently cursed. Oh. My. God. "IN THE DUNGEONS!!' He mouthed.
Nick barely registered anything, there was a deep ache everywhere. (If you want him to see George, he can now) -
Dream glanced up and turned, still holding Nick. He glanced at Schlatt the over and saw George. He inhaled sharply and looked up. "George! Wait, George was there the entire time. Why would he let Karl hang himself if he was standing right there?"

"He probably was forced back into his own room." Nick said. His voice was strained to the point of a whisper. "It's the one on the other side of George's. Or maybe he fell asleep,"
George was about to actually shout when he father placed a hand on his shoulder as a warning.
