Erati noticed her watched him and stopped, staring at her as he slowly grabbed the fish

Doris noticed this and wondered if he might be a nervous eater. She then started looking away to not make the observation obvious.

Erati moved away from her, holding the fish close as he curled up on the bottom of the tank again, eventually nibbling at the fish

Doris scribbled down on her notes "Subject is hesitant and a little nervous being observed while eating. Likely due to getting used to the new surroundings and the shock of transportation."

He noticed her writing again, psusing for a moment before he started swimming up as his curiosity got the better of him. "What are you doing?" He asked quietly once her surfaced

Doris looked and answered him. She said "I'm writing down interesting things about you. So everyone can get to know people like you better. Speaking of which, are there any others like you?"

He narrowed his eyes at her, drawing back a little before responding "why so you can put them in tanks too?"

Doris said "What, no. It's so we don't have to live in wonder. If we know then perhaps we can all talk and help the place where you all live. That's why we have this aquarium in the first place."

"We do just fine without your kinds help!" he said, sounding angry

Doris said "I'm not saying you're not. But the public should be aware of your existence."

"No, you shouldnt." He said before diving back under the water and swimming back to the bottom

Doris asked "Why not? Do you know how popular you are up here?"

He ignored her, seeming upset

Doris wrote in her notes "Subject appears upset about confinement. Subject also doesn't seem to like the idea of humans helping him. However, use of the pronoun "we" seems to semi-confirm the existence of multiple specimens."

Erati heard her through the water and brought his tail around to cover his head with the flat of his fin
