(She's not speaking. She's writing.)
-
Whoops my bad lol)
Erati idly started playing with the fish bones he had, twisting them in his fingers -
(Maybe I should italicize the writing.)
Doris then asked "Since you'll he here for a while, can I ask for your name?" -
Erati lifted his head and stared at her, appearing to be confused. He then shook his head and turned his back to her
-
Doris shrugged and said "Okay."
-
Erati plucked out a few of his hairs and started wraving them around the bones
-
(Should we do a time skip? I can't think of anything to say or do.)
-
Sure)
-
(What time do you suggest, closing time?)
-
Probably yeah)
-
(Okay.)
After a long day of trying to learn more about the mermaid, Doris began to pack up for the day. She had hoped that everything would be okay for the night. The mermaid seemed a little scared of his new surroundings. -
Erati noticed her packing up and watched her, wanting to see where she went
-
Doris turned to the mermaid and said "Okay, I'm leaving for the night. I'll be back tomorrow." She then walked to the glass and pressed her hand against the tank and said "I want you to know. I had fun meeting you today. I felt like a kid again. Meeting a mermaid for the first time. I can't tell you when you'll go home but, I know you will soon. Be patient. I'll see you tomorrow." She then began to walk away.
-
Erati swam up to watch her go, seeming anxious
-
Doris left the quarantine and left the aquarium to head back home. She thought about what would happen once everyone knew about these people in the water. How would their reality be different than it was before? Perhaps it was best to cross that bridge when there.
