“So uh, again, sorry about my crazy brothers,” Vivian said with a chuckle, running a hand through her hair.

Oliver found the flower, safely tucking it in his pocket. "Honestly? They seem like lots of fun," he said with a light chuckle. "You must never be bored."

“Yeah, and I never get peace and quiet,” Vivian said with a giggle, running a hand through her hair. “Kind of wish I at least had a sister.”

Oliver leaned back, letting his head rest on the couch. "Feel free to take one of my cousins," he joked playfully. "I have too many of them anyway."

Vivian giggled, hugging her legs to her chest. “So, do you have any siblings? Or is it just you?”

Oliver traced the petals on his flower thoughtfully. "Nah, it's just me. Siblings sound fun though. Annoying, maybe sometimes, but fun."

Vivian nodded, glancing at Oliver for a moment. She smiled slightly as she watched him before looking away. “So uh, I- I was wondering if you’d be comfortable with-with talking about the ‘accident’,” she said, referring the the wreck causing Oliver to lose his sight temporarily.

Oliver sucked in a deep breath, his face focused with thought. "What do you want to know?"

“Just sort of what all happened when the wreck occurred,” Vivian said quietly, sneaking a glance at Oliver. “I just figured if, y’know, I knew a bit more about what happened, it’d be helpful for helping you. It’s totally fine if you don’t want to talk about it though! I completely understand if it’s too hard to talk about.”

Oliver hummed in thought. "I don't know what to tell say, or where to begin," he said in a soft tone. "Well, so I was really...upset, and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. And then this car comes out of nowhere and it's like, swerving around? I hit the brakes, but they front-end me and the airbag like, blows up in my face," he said, using hand gestures to emphasize his point.
"I'm bleeding or something, from somewhere and everything hurts. I blacked out, I think, and the next thing I know, I'm in a hospital. And when I open my eyes, I just...I don't see anything." -
“That sounds awful compared to- to stories of other accidents I’ve heard,” Vivian said, cutting herself off mid-sentence and changing her words. “Honestly I feel like that’s be really traumatizing, going through that.”

Oliver nodded, his cloudy eyes filled with pensive thought. "It could have been better, but it also could have been worse," he replied after a moment of silence. "I'm lucky to be alive."

“Yeah, me too,” Vivian said. She paused and registered what she just said, her face turning red. “I-I mean, not in like some weird romantic way- like, it’d just be very sad in- in general, and like, we- we didn’t even know each other till a while ago- and I’m just going to stop talking.” She groaned quietly, burying her red face in her hands.

Oliver covered his mouth, trembling with laughter. "No no, you're good. I know what you mean," he said with a reassuring smile.
