Braincells go skrrt))
"Pfft, no it didn't," Julia protested. "You should try hearing me geek out about plants. I could put an insomniac to sleep in five minutes." -
( lmao )
``That's what my sister says about me when I drone on and on about my music,`` he said with a chuckle, crossing his arms. -
"We need to try boring each out sometime," Julia said, laughing at the idea. "A competition: who can be the last one awake?"
-
Aiden chuckled, looking over to Julia. ``That sure would be interesting to try.``
-
Julia smiled at the idea, it seemed like s cozy, friendly sort of thing. "Yeah, it would," she said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "So, what do you think of your new home so far?"
-
``It's alright,`` AIden said with a small smile. ``It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, at least.``
-
Julia rubbed her finger against a smooth stone before skipping it across the water surface, watching the little ripples spread out in a mesmerising fashion. Her dad had taught her that when she was little, a decade ago at that very place.
-
Aiden watched the rock skip across the water, smiling. ``I have to say, I thought I'd hate it here,`` he said with an awkward chuckle. ``But it's nice here.``
-
"Honestly? That's what I thought at first," Julia said, laughing a little. "I was five and stubborn as a goat. But my dad saw something in this place that I didn't. I can't imagine leaving anymore."
-
Aiden chuckled, putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans. ``I can see why you wouldn't want to leave, though,`` he said with a small smile. ``It's very unique.``
-
"It is," Julia said with a happy sigh, fixing Aiden under her gaze. "So what about you? What was your home like?"
-
``It was nice,`` Aiden said with a small smile. ``Not the best, but it was home.`` He exhaled, staring out at the lake. He let out an awkward chuckle, crossing his arms. ``Honestly, it kind of sucked. I like it better here, though.``
-
Julia raised an eyebrow, nudging his shoulder playfully. "So the truth comes out! Welcome home, Aiden."
-
Aiden blushed and chuckled, glancing over at Julia with a small smile. ``Thanks,`` he said, returning his gaze to the lake in front of him.
-
Julia saw his cheeks turn pink and quickly turned so he wouldn't catch her looking at him. Don't think he's cute, don't think he's cute-. Oh fine. He's pretty cute. Doesn't mean I like him though!
"Do you know how to swim?" she asked.
