(I FEEL SO BAD, I JUST BROKE AZURE’S HEART)
Ruby quietly hummed along to her music, but a smiled never showed on her face. She still couldn’t stop thinking about Azure. Ruby sighed, half in fear and half in heartbeat, thinking about how she would probably bump into him that day. -
(You didn’t break his so much as he did Ruby’s)
Azure turned red when he saw Ruby, bopping her head to what appeared to be music. I should leave her alone, he thought, walking in the other direction sadly. -
(OH THIS IS MAKING ME SO SAD 😭 😭😭)
Ruby glanced over in the other direction and saw Azure walking away, looking sad. She mentally hit herself; she had never thought about how Azure would feel if she pushed him away like that. -
( 😭😭😭)
Azure found enough strength to dump himself into a chair right in front of Mrs. Albany, but he didn’t raise his hand the whole class, nor did he take in a single word Albany was saying. -
(OH MAH HEART IS BREAKING)
School has just finished and Ruby was walking out of the building. Guilt now weighed on her shoulders as well as sadness. She never meant to make Azure feel so terrible. As she was walking down the school’s front steps, Ruby turned around and caught Azure walking out of the building. She mustered up all of her courage and walked up to him. “... I’m really sorry, Azure.” -
"You shouldn't be sorry. It was me who… you know," he apologized quickly. "I should be sorry." Then he turned away from her and walked home, shoulders slumped and head low.
-
Ruby looked down at her feet. "Azu-" she began, but when she looked up to speak, Azure was already walking away. "Azure!" She called out, running towards him.
-
(MAH TEARS 😭 😭 😭)
Azure just quickly shoved through the crowd of kids streaming out of the school like a steady river and walked all the way back to his home, his heart pounding furiously in his chest. Turn back. Face reality, was the message it seemed to convey with each heartbeat. -
(I'M CRYING )
Ruby followed Azure all the way back to his home. She felt so terrible, and she needed to fix it. "Azure!" She called out again. -
Azure shut the garage door and the front and back doors too. He felt guilty, but he needed some alone time. He looked at Ruby out the window, then quickly drew the curtains before she could see him. Seeing him would only make her feel worse, Azure decided. This is for the best. But he couldn’t even convince himself that it was.
-
Tears now began to slip down Ruby's cheeks. She felt so awful. She had made Azure feel so terrible that he shut himself completely away. Ruby didn't know what to do. She sat down in his front yard and stayed there for a while, contemplating what she should do, but that turned into hours. She stayed there all night without realizing it.

(Le bump)
-
Azure sleepily climbed upstairs, briskly showered and brushed his teeth, and without saying a word to himself, his sheets, or anyone, he slept through the night.
-
Ruby woke up to the soft sunlight and the faint sound of birds singing in the distance. It must've rained last night because her hair and clothes were soaked and she was shivering. How did it not wake her up? Ruby simply shook her head and ignored it. She didn't have her phone with her so she couldn't tell her mother where she was, but she was too weak to move at the moment. So she just sat there, utterly still.
-
Azure yawned and stretched, sliding off his bed in one athletic movement. Peering out of his bedroom window, he saw Ruby and his face scrunched up. That girl, he thought. She musta stayed here and slept in that front yard all night. I owe her an apology. So Azure clambered downstairs, opened the door, and said loudly, "Sorry, Ruby." His blue eyes gazed down at his feet.
