"You should," Cassie said. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly when she realized that she and Porak were having an actual conversation, not just him doing things to her and her reacting.

"What's wrong? Is it because I haven't done anything to you for the past few minutes?" he asked.

"Not exactly," Cassie said. "It's just a little weird that we're not fighting or anything right now. It's nice."

"I guess I felt too bad about what I did and now I'm scared it'll happen again." he said.

"Is that a bad thing?" she asked.

"No, not really." he said.

She nodded in understanding. After a moment she said,"Okay, excuse my ever-curious brain, but can you stand garlic?"

"No, I really cannot. It's too bitter for me." he said.

"Garlic.is delicious," she said. "What about just being around it?"

"You do realize garlic can kill vampires, right?" he said, narrowing his eyes.

"I didn't," Cassie said.

"Well it does unfortunately, so we have to have everything garlic free. It really takes the flavor out of good food." said Porak.

"How.would you know if you've never had it?" Cassie said. -
"Because I've heard it tasted good from my grandmother. She was a dragon." said Porak.
