Ethan couldn't help but chuckle at the song.
"Hey, what's that for?" the one officer asked.
"Just the song," he replied. -
“Hey, Jones, how 'bout we get that youngster into the good ol’ policeman spirt?" The officer suggested to the other officer.
-
"I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about," Jones said.
-
"The coffee and donuts song?” The police officer said with a raised eyebrow. "I know you sing it with me whenever we go on a stakeout."
-
"Oh look, we're here," Jones said. "Help him out, Keith, I'm going to go in."
-
Keith nodded and got out of the driver’s seat. He opened Ethan’s door and unbuckled his seatbelt, letting the boy out.
Grabbing Ethan’s handcuffed wrists, Keith guided him to the station. -
Ethan was guided into a room with a table and three chairs. Two were on one side and one was on the other. He was sat down in the one.
The room was made of large bricks and was painted a pale cream color. There was a window, but there was metal blocking the way to get out. -
“Do you know why you're here?"
A burly man with bushy black eyebrows stalked into the room, pulling a chair out of the table and plopping himself down on it, his posture straight and intimidating. -
"Apparently there's video evidence that I'm guilty of killing Richard?" Ethan asked more than said. "Is it okay if I look at it?"
-
The man nodded and reached a big hand into his pocket. The hand resurfaced with a small black tape.
He popped it into a small TV.
The TV played a recording of Richard’s death. How he had gotten into a fight and then ultimately died.
The person who killed him was none other than Ethan himself.
But the video seemed off. It seemed like.. Ethan's form had been purposefully put there as if to cover someone else up. -
Ethan narrowed his eyes at the image of himself. Something was off. The way he was moving looked familiar, almost as if he had seen himself from this perspective before.
Suddenly it struck him. "Wait, that's me from last year! I was on the wrestling team and that's me from a video my mom took!" -
“Hm?” The officer hummed, pausing the recording. "Do you have the video with you?”
-
"No, it should be on my mom's phone," Ethan said. "She's the one that took the video."
-
“We’ll bring your mother in here now." The officer whispered something into his walkie talkie and then turned back to Ethan. “We just have to wait for her.”

In about 15 minutes, Joan was there, scared out of her mind for her son. She was worried that this was about that incident a bit back about that Richie boy. She walked up to the front desk and told her purpose for being there.
