"Something she's hardly inconvenienced by doing," his father said. "She's already gone a number of times."
And their conversation continued for another fifteen minutes, before Mr. Douglas decided to turn in for the night.
A week later, Callyn returned home from work with a grin on her face. "They accepted you at work!" she exclaimed happily once she found Turner. "You start on Monday!"
(So at this point he should be about half way turned against her.) -

Turner just stared at her blankly.
Was this the girl who he had loved?
The girl who may be using him for fame? -
"Is something wrong?" Callyn asked. "You were so happy about it before."

"Do you love me...?" Turner asked quietly.

Callyn froze. She didn't want to break his heart a second time. "As a friend," she said.

"Yeah, I guess."

Callyn blinked. He guessed? No, she wanted to erase all doubt from his mind. "Turner, I really do care about you," she said. "I'm so glad to have met you."

"Would you care about me if I was poor and wasn't famous?" He quietly asked.

"Of course I would," Callyn said. She put her hand on his shoulder in a reassuring way.

“Fine. Would you like me just because I had money?”

"Why are you even asking these things?" Callyn said. "I like you for you, not for anything you have."

“I don't know, you just seemed a bit suspicious.” Turner mumbled, looking at the ground in shame.

Callyn sighed. "I really hope you don't have any doubts again.
A week later, Callyn was in the piano room. Even after their talk, Turner had been distant, even more as the days passed. It pained her, she missed him even though he was in the same house as her.
She started playing her music, it reflecting her feelings, filling the house.
