Kammi's heels hit the slush and she tripped, getting a bloody scrape on her knee, but she got up and kept walking nevertheless. -
(That's what autocorrect does XD)
Tyler walked into a good alleyway he had found a few days before and sat down on a wooden crate. 'Some people's kids,' he thought. -
(I turned my autocorrect off))
Kammi sat down on a bench, then got up immediately. The sudden movement sent a sharp stab of pain into her leg, which was already injured. She winced and rubbed some snow on her knee. -
(My school had us download grammarly, and I don't know how to turn it off for this website)
Tyler reached into his pack and tore open the pack of jerky. He took a few of the reddish-brown strips and sealed the bag back up. He started chewing on the dried meat. -
((Oh God, Grammarly. I got so sick of watching those ads I just stopped watching YouTube altogether in an attempt to get rid of those. Now the Grammarly ads have disappeared for me, so I started using YouTube again)
Kammi petted a stray dog. It snapped at her and galloped away. I'm never going to go back, Kammi thought. -
Kammi brought out the pack of veggie chips and ate some. I'll have to make the most of this. I only have one more ten-dollar bill on me, she realized.

It was night time, so Tyler finished his jerky and walked to a large box. He grabbed a lid he had constructed out of scrap pieces of cloth and cardboard and laid down in the box, putting the lid on top. He sort of imagined himself in a coffin when he did that. -
Kammi found a cardboard box and decided to sleep in it. She closed the lid. It was dark and hard in the box, as opposed to the cushy features of a bed.
She was roused by a loud noise. She found a burly man peering down at her. “Look what we have here,” he said in a gruff voice, then punched her in the jaw. Despite the burning pain, she kept silent. She knew that if she screamed, it would possibly alert more thugs to her presence. Jumping out of the box, Kammi kicked the stranger in a very disturbing place. After that, she rubbed her chin. The thug took advantage of this and hooked his arm around her neck and started to squeeze. Noticing her clothing, he said, “Give me all your money.” When Kammi refused, he twisted her wrist around her back painfully. Kammi yelped. -

Tyler heard a yell from somewhere. He wasn't sure where it was, though. And it wasn't the kind of yelp that happens when you find a dead cat in your house or anything like that, it was more like a yelp of pain and a cry for help. He lifted the lid off his box and rushed to go find where it was coming from. -
(Aww, let me relish it tho))
Kammi sure hoped someone was coming soon. -

Tyler looked back and forth between the alleyways and the street, and then he found the commotion. Someone was choking the girl from before. He took his knife out of his pocket and crept up behind the man. He swiftly brought the blade up to the man's throat. "Let her go or I slit your throat," he hissed. -

Kammi remained expressionless. -
The man put his hands up, totally cowed. “All right, all right, just leave me alone,” he bawled.

Tyler punched the man in the stomach and pushed him away from them. He stuck his knife back in his pocket. He watched the man speedwalk away, then turned to the girl and grabbed her arm, leading her away from the place. "I told you," he said.
