He then realized she was seemingly uncomfortable by his gesture. "Oh, uh- sorry." He then sheepishly brought his arms back to his sides. "I have a habit of warming up to people I've just met."

"It's okay," Clarissa said. "I just wasn't expecting it." She sighed. "I wasn't expecting any of this.

"I bet you weren't" He chuckled sadly, feeling pity for this girl. "One second, you have your entire life ahead of you. The next, it's ripped away in the most unexpected kind of way."

Clarissa nodded. "That's exactly what happened," she said.

He chuckled, trying to change the topic. "So..." He began. "What's your name?"

"Clarissa," she answered. "And yours?"

"What a nice name!" He commented, before adding swiftly; "My name is Neptune."

"You're the first person I know with that name," Clarissa said. "Whenever I hear 'neptune' I start thinking of dark galactic colors."

Neptune smiled. "I've never met a Clarissa. It's a unique name, in my opinion." He then paused, his eyes drifting away to elsewhere as he breathed silently in the quiet background whooshes of the billowing wind in the lovely evening. Night would be here, soon.

"What's it usually like out here?" Clarissa asked. "In the streets."

"Eh, the usual." He chuckled, sagging his shoulders in relief. "There's danger here and there, weather is pretty easy to dodge, boxes sometimes make good shelters, food comes from trash or from trees, you get the idea."

Clarissa nodded in understanding. She was not prepared for any of this. She'd likely be dead within a week.

"Uhm- are you okay? You seem kind of off... Wait, I know! You're dehydrated, right?" He guessed, trying to seem friendly.

Clarissa shook her head with a small smile. "No, I'm just sad," she said.

He couldn't be happy with her miserable smile. "What's wrong...? Oh, right. Your aunt." He paused, looking down. How could he comfort her?
