"Gross!" Flamekit squealed.
-
Streampaw purred in amusement. "Do either of you want to play hide and seek?"
-
"I think it's cool," Dragonkit said saucily to Flamekit. "What's Hide and Seek?"
-
"It's like Hide the Pebble, but you're hiding yourself instead of the pebble." She explained.
-
"Got it," Dragonkit said. "Who goes first?"
-
"You two hide and I'll search for you. You have twenty seconds." She mewed, closing her eyes.
-
-
The two kits scampered off, giggling to themselves. Dragonkit nudged his sister. "Let's go out of camp! She'll never find us there."
Flamekit stared at the camp entrance nervously. "I don't know...what if we get in big trouble?"
"Oh, come OFF it, Flamekit," Dragonkit said, looking bored with her. "We won't go very far. We'll hide right next to camp and it'll be like we didn't even leave!"
Flamekit eventually agreed and followed him out. -
Twenty seconds later she opened her eyes and searched every aspect and inch of camp. When she couldn't find them, she checked other places around camp that kits could still go. No sign of them.
-
Dragonkit hid in a bush near camp, before he caught the scent of mice. His eyes shone excitedly. "Do you know how cool it would be if we caught prey?"
Flamekit shook her head. "Dragonkit, don't! It's against the warrior c-"
But he'd already bounded off, keeping low to the ground and stalking through the undergrowth. His eyes were on a plump mouse. He sprang at it and barely caught it, it let out a loud squeak as it died. -
She shook out her fur. They were probably in a bush she'd missed, so she skimmed quickly over camp again. Maybe they were in a den?
-
Dragonkit purred in pleasure until he heard a low growl from a bush nearby. His ears flattened and his eyes grew wide as a fox pup snapped its teeth at him.
-
-
Streampaw checked the dens, careful not to wake sleeping elders. No where to be found...
-
Dragonkit turned and ran back to camp, the fox pup at his heels. Flamekit squealed and ran with him as they charged through the entrance. The fox pup tore out a piece of his fur before an brown tabby apprentice flew out at it, snarling and burying his fangs into its neck. It was all over in seconds.
