"Trying to convince Owlpaw to teach me to fight? Just because we're medicine cats doesn't mean we don't need to know how to defend ourselves." Pyropaw explained.

Skypaw stretched and contemplated her words. "It's a thought," he said. "I mean, I could teach you somewhat. I was a warrior's apprentice, you know!"

"You could?" She asked, immediately jumping to her paws. "How much do you know?"

Skypaw made an amused purring noise. "I know enough to help teach myself the rest. But you should probably ask a trained warrior!"

"You think I haven't tried? They think since I'm a medicine cat I don't need to learn warrior moves." She grumbled.

"I thought it was protocol for all medicine cats to learn a few fighting moves," Skypaw said, organizing a few herbs.

Pyropaw sighed. "Only defense, not attack."

"That's because we're medicine cat's. It's not our job to fight, it's our job to learn and to heal. You should wait," Skypaw said, licking his paw to rid it of the honey he'd moved.

She snorted. "We need to know, in case there's like a mass fox attack consisting of like 20 of them or something. Or a band of rogue cats."

"If we learn how to become warriors, then what would we be? Warriors or medicine cats?" Skypaw said. "Just wait until your medicine cat training is done. You can't afford to be distracted."

She rolled her eyes. "I knew you wouldn't understand." She muttered and stalked away.

"What is THAT supposed to mean?" he growled, pinning his ears back.

To help herself feel better, she found her mentor napping, because it was noon and everyone was either eating or napping. She walked over. And inched a little closer. And closer. And nudged Juniperberry with a paw.

Juniperberry stirred. "Hmm? What is it?"
