Kieran watched her storm around the room looking for cooking tools.

Finally, Iris settled for a thick metal bowl, using a fallen pipe to scoot it around the oven as it heated up.

Kieran couldn't help but laugh. "I guess that's one way to do it," he said.

"'Improvise, adapt, overcome!'" Iris quoted, a smile playing at her lips. "Can you pass me the bacon?"

Kieran cut open the pack with his knife and handed it to her.

"Thanks," Iris said. She set down a piece of bacon carefully, trying not to fry herself.

(My dad will sometimes just use his fingers to flip the bacon)
"It smells good already," Kieran said as he watched the bacon sizzle in the bowl. -

"Mmmm," Iris said. "I love the smell of bacon. It reminds me of happy days." -
(I sometimes do it too. We usually use a griddle instead of a frying pan, so the grease kinda just slides off.)
"I've never had anything besides Linnus' gloop unless I was on an assignment," Kieran said. -
Me and my fam use an air fryer))
Iris was about to ask Kieran about his life before Linnus, but stopped herself. How could she be so stupid? "Yeah, Linnus gloop is gross," she said. She quickly picked a piece of bacon out of the "pot" and placed it on a plate. -
(For bacon???)
(Our air fryer broke on Thanksgiving which is really sad)
"How many slices are there?" Kieran asked as he stuck the whole slice into his mouth. "Mmm this is good." -

"There's like, eighteen," Iris said. "Kieran, I just made that one, it's still really hot." -
"That's a big pack," Kieran said. "I think they usually come with twelve."

"Eh," Iris said, shrugging. "Ours used to come in twenty."
She used her fingers to fling another piece of bacon towards the plate. -

"I didn't know they made those sizes," Kieran said.
