Cross lept back when Akka dropped down in in front of him, instinctively reaching over his shoulder for a weapon as he narrowed his eyes at the large cat

Akka snarled at Cross, slinking carefully towards him with her teeth bared, flicking her tail defensively.

Max was close to giving up for the night until he overheard a group of men discussing the nearby forest. Something about a college of theirs going to investigate? He turned his attention to the trees, wondering if there was someone- or something- in there that would have a clue about the Mythril rumors in this town.

Cross slowly backed up as Akka moved closer, before he summoned a sword and pointed it at her

Akka unsheathed her claws, a low growl in her throat.
Leave, she hissed. -
Max decided that there was no harm in seeing what was in the forest. So, he took off into the trees, carefully weaving through bushes and other natural obstacles. He made sure to only go straight, since there wasn't a clear path where he had entered.
He began to think that he had made a mistake by entering the forest— until he heard faint growling and hissing that was unlike the usual sound of a cat or forest animal. He froze, trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. -

Cross froze for a momemt before his eyes hardened and he pointed his sword at her "your a witch." He said

Yes, she growled. And you are a hunter, now hunted.
