Ardis bent down and filled a vial carefully with the goop. "Huh. Apparently we just met a baby. That's horrifying."

Phen stared "excuse me?"

"You heard me," Ardis said. "That thing was hatched only recently. When he's an adult, he'll have tripled in size."

"Yeah," Ardis said. "Let's hope we don't run into his mom."

Ardis kept on walking down the dank corridor.

"I'm starting to wonder whether or not we should have taken the mountain side," Ardis said.

Ardis suddenly felt a gentle breeze brush her cheek. It was fresh and crisp. Mountain air! She followed it and saw a crevice they could fit through.

Phen eyed the hole warily. "Be careful

Ardis nodded and carefully pushed at the crevice. Bits of worn rock crumbled away and she managed to squeeze through.

Ardis relished the fresh air. There was a winding slide like thing and she slid down it, whooping.
