An hour later, Ardis found herself in front of a formidable mountain. "This is it."

Phen frowned as he stared up at tge mountain

Ardis unpacked most of the things on her horse, letting it run free. Flix had his own little knapsack of food.

Phen did the same

Ardis looked up at the mountain. "So, where do you suggest we start?"

Phen hummed and then started walking "this way

Ardis followed him, Flix scampering around at her heels.

Phen carefully led them to a narrow path

Annie felt Flix scrambling up her back and under her hair.

Phen glanced back at her

Ardis looked around. "I mean, it isn't as bad as I thought."

Phen snorted softly

Ardis stuffed Flix into her bag and began to walk tentatively.
