Ardis felt some rock crumble beneath her foot and she jumped just in time, squeaking with fear.

Phen stopped and looked at her in worry

"I need to stop almost dying," Ardis said. "It's getting exhausting."

Phen snorted but nodded, turning to continued

Ardis followed Phen for what felt like hours. "I think I see a cave ahead," she said.

Phen perked up and looked

There was indeed a cave ahead, and Flix peered blearily out of the backpack to see.

Phen ran to it

Ardis looked inside. "Thank the gods, there's nothing here."

Phen nodded, grinning

Ardis stepped tentatively inside before cooking some meat. Flix paced around the flames, his tongue lolling out of his mouth.

Phen sat by the entance

Ardis turned the meat over the fire, letting it sear. Once it was done, she gingerly pulled it off and set it on a clean slab of rock.

Phen started checking his wing over

Ardis got out some fresh bandages. "How is it doing?"
