Annie laughed. "Were you petting Engle?"

"yeah, but he used to tell me to pet him when we were little to help him sleep." Peter said.

"Okay then," Annie said, gathering sticks for a fire.

Peter looked at Engle. He had lots of respect for Engle.

Annie turned into a phoenix and soon had a nice fire roaring.

"so, how've you been doing on this trip?" Peter asked.

"So far, so good," Annie said, turning the rabbits on a spit.

"I'm surprised you're taking all of this so well." Peter said.

Annie shrugged. "I suppose I'm adaptable. I believe everyone's powers are connected to their personalities in some way. That's what makes them special."

"oh trust me, it has nothing to do with my personality." Peter said.

"Really?" Annie said. "What does it do then?"

"well, my power affects my appearance, it's why I'm so pale." Peter said.

"You should rest," Annie insisted.

"nah, you did most of the work tonight, I think you deserve to rest." Peter said.

Annie shook her head. "I'm not tired. I'll wake you up for guard."
