Ezra looked into Marissa's eyes. "I understand that," he whispered. He was silent for a few minutes, then suddenly everyone started heading inside. Ezra tilted his head up to see if it had started raining or something, but none.
He pointed his thumb towards the door. "Should we go inside?" He asked Marissa. -
"I did say that if in the next ten minutes something doesn't happen I'd be leaving," Marissa said, raising her eyebrows "Well, it looks like something's happening and the ten minute timer isn't up yet. Let's go in."

Ezra followed Marissa inside the house, where everyone was seated on the couches, in chairs, and in the floor. Some of the furniture had been moved to form a circle. Ezra didn’t really know what was going on, but he took his place in an empty area, hoping Marissa would sit beside him.
-
Marissa sat next to Ezra in the circle on the floor, and leaned up against the end table that was behind her. She didn't know what was going on, but it had to be something. Most likely some sort of game. She'd find out soon enough.
-
There she was, on the other end of the circle from Ezra and Marissa, Stephanie. She was the prime example of priss and perfect. From her curly, blonde locks of hair to her clear skin and bold, blue eyes. Not to mention her wealth and superiority compared to many of the students from their high school. Stephanie clapped her hands and smiled, “I propose a game of truth or dare,” she was giggling and twitching a bit. Ezra figured the teenagers inside had been drinking, considering his sights of several beer bottles. So of course, being the host of the party, Stephanie was a little buzzed.
-
Marissa saw the bottles. ooh boy she thought, What'd I get myself into? The game started. She was expecting the whole thing to be things like, 'who's your crush out of these people?' or 'I dare you to kiss so-and-so.' and it was for the most part. She hoped she had been forgotten.
-
Suddenly, Ezra’s knee jolted. A girl, who seemed more tipsy than she should have been, looked Marissa in the eyes. Her stare was dark, almost brutal. “Truth or dare?” The girl asked, flicking her tongue. A few other girls snickered and a few boys sighed.
-
"I . . . " Well that's what you get for thinking it, she scolded herself. Not wanting to seem like a coward, she said, "Dare."
-
The girl looked behind her, the brutal gaze shifting towards Stephanie, then she looked back. “Kiss someone, anyone in this room. Just lock lips for a while,” the girl bit her lip to prevent herself from laughing. In the background, Ezra could clearly see Stephanie rolling her eyes as if she was disappointed in Marissa’s dare.
-
"I . . . uhhh . . . Any volunteers?" she asked to the room.
-
Ezra blushed and twiddled his thumbs. A few boys and even a girl started to raise their hands, but the girl stopped them by raising her voice. “No, it’s your choice and only yours.” This girl’s stare was serious.
-
"I choose whoever will volunteer, then," Marissa said.
-
The girl glared at each and every one of the teenagers who had attempted to volunteer, but one guy, who was particularly muscular raised his hand. The girl gave him a dirty look, and then he shrugged. This boy had dirty blonde hair and green eyes. He was wearing a white muscle shirt and khaki shorts, which Ezra believed to look utterly stupid. Adorned across the boy's neck was a black string with a wooden cross attached to it. "I don't mind," he said, flashing a bright smile to Marissa.
