Alia scowled at her, unable to come up with a satisfactory reply.
-
Atalith laughed.
-
She looked around. "So, two people per canoe, right? Who's gonna be with someone else?"
-
Elaine nervously searched around for a partner but was too shy to say anything. She mostly wanted to get back to her book more than anything.
-
Atalith saw Elaine. "Do you want to be partners?" she asked her.
-
"sure." Elaine said relieved to have a partner.
-
Atalith smiled. She knew what Elaine was thinking, that she wanted to get back to her book. "So what books are you reading right now?" she asked.
-
"I'm reading the miraculous journey of Edward Tulane." Elaine said remembering the story of the vain porcelain rabbit.
-
"I haven't read that one," Atalith said. "I'm reading a new book, I don't quite remember what it's called, but there's tons of action in it. And lots of magic."
-
"The miraculous journey of Edward Tulane is not for the faint of heart. Its focus is a vain porcelain rabbit that is shattered learns to love and hate and constantly has its heart broken. It really sad actually." Elaine said remembering the book and how his favorite owner had just died.
-
Atalith looked at her, smiling. "You think I'm faint of heart?"
-
"not particularly I'm just saying it's a very depressing story." Elaine said. Not everyone can handle depressing stories after all she thought.
-
"I've never read a depressing story before," Atalith said, staring out at the water. "Maybe I should sometime."
-
"yeah the miraculous journey of Edward Tulane is a beautiful story I really recommend it." Elaine said smiling. "Welp it's canoe time now." Elaine said.
-
"Indubitably," Atalith said.
