I'm thinking fantasy and starcrossed lovers- maybe demon and angel or mermaid and bird creature. Two creatures trying to understand each other's perspective and way of life

I'm gonna use mermaid and bird creature because I feel like demon and angel is way too overused (if you want me to change it though that's cool too)
C1 and C2 couldn't be more opposite of each other. They live in different places, they wear different things, even their personalities are like two sides of a coin. C1 is a mermaid who can't seem to get their head out of the clouds. C2 is a bird creature wants nothing more than to stay grounded. One fateful day, C1 catches sight of C2 sitting on a rock above the water, and they curiously start up a conversation. Soon they meet there everyday, getting to know more and more about each other's lifestyle. They know that their chats will have to be cut short if either one of their family members find out, though... and perhaps that isn't the only danger ahead, with curious humans around.
By "bird creature" I just mean something humanoid, but with wings. Like a harpy, or a dragon in human form, or a pheonix, etc. -
I like the idea of bird and sea creature more than demon and angel anyways, I've made a lot of demonic characters recently and I wanna mix it up. Do you wanna be sea or sky creature? Cuz I'm fine with either

Ok, sea creatures for me
Name: Aril
Age: roughly 200 or so years (explained in species)
Gender: male
Species: Siren, he's one of very few male sirens. But sirens are somewhat immortal, or just live much longer than humans. No one knows except other sirens, and few bird creatures
Appearance: this
Personality: calm, goes with the flow. Lives life UNDER THE SEA
Bio: being a siren, is really good at deception. But being a male siren, his powers of singing to someone's doom only works on female ship people. Has worked on males, but always works on females. Never had any interest in life below the sea, but had to live it. Can't exactly be out of water long, not that he can't breathe oxygen, but that he can't move well on ground.
Other: always dreams of flying and actually being on land for a while without returning to the water soon after -
