"Fun is definitely... a word for it," Erin says with a chuckle. She sets the jewelry down on the rock so that Aril could have a better look at them. "Not particularly. Humans just like them cause they're pretty, I guess. I've found that they love beautiful things. Beautiful people, beautiful accessories, beautiful clothes- it's all very interesting!" Erin says. "This thing here is called a 'ring', and that one is a 'necklace'," Erin explains, pointing to certain items.
-
Aril looked at all the jewels with absolute wonder in his eyes, he never saw anything so amazing. "What's this?" He asked picking up a yellow small orb connected to a hook {one side of earrings}. "Why do humans fascinate over these things?" Aril had so many questions, he couldn't figure out what to ask first. He had so many questions about humans and harpies as well.
-
"That's.." Erin tries to remember if she'd ever overheard what that one was. "I'm not sure what the name is, but it hooks onto human's ears- the humans have these small holes that they poke through their ears just to be able to wear them!" Erin explains. She loved talking about her discoveries, but other harpies would never be that interested in her stories. "I dunno about the fascination thing, humans are just wild and weird, but that's what I love about 'em," Erin chirps happily.
-
"So they harm themselves just to wear it? Doesn't that seem not so smart?" Aril asked still looking at this strange piece of jewelry. He started going cross eyed staring at it. He set it down and shook his head to see straight. Humans are such strange creatures, now he can tell why so many other creatures love tormenting them, they obviously enjoy pain. He heard screaming from the forest that Erin flew from "WHERE DID THAT FEATHERED FREAK GO!!!????"

Erin flinched in surprise at the yelling. Her eyes then grew wide with a mix of worry and fear. "Darn, looks like they're still looking for me!" Erin says as she jumps up. She looks torn for a second, but then she seems to finally come to some kind of decision. She bends back down. "Do you think they'll see me if I go underwater?" Erin asks. "They might shoot me down if I try to fly away, I just need to lay low. I can hold my breath for as long as possible," She says all of this to Aril frantically, in a panicked little whisper.
-
"They shouldn't be able to see you if you go under, but it really comes down to how long you can hold your breath, I can try to distract them for a while if you can find somewhere to hide from sight." Aril replied whispiring, knowing very well he could lure them away to another part of the coast. Humans are such one tracked creatures, hell they would probably mistake splashes in the water as Rin if they were far enough off. Or they would just leave the shore altogether.
-
"What? No, you don't have to risk yourself like that for me," Erin says, grabbing Aril's arm before he could do anything crazy. She didn't know about his powers, so this planned seemed insane to her. "This rock here will keep us out of view if we hide on the side facing away from the shore. We just gotta hope that they don't get a boat or something, we can wait till they give up searching," Erin said. Usually it was just her getting into dangerous situations, but now that she had dragged Aril into this there was no way she was gonna let anything happen to him because of her.
-
"I doubt they have a boat. There hasn't been one on these shores forever and I doubt they'd drag one through the woods." Aril told Rin "So that could just work." He didn't know if the humans would chase them more, but he would do whatever he could to protect Rin. They may have just met, but he felt like he could trust her, which is why he'd protect her if he had to.
-
"Great!" Erin chirped happily as Aril and her come to a conclusion in their plan. Rin was already holding onto one of Aril's arms, so she takes the other one and pulls him close, then she positions them behind the rock so that they were out of the humans' line of sight. "Stay quiet, and don't move or they might catch a glimpse of you," Erin instructs. The rock wasn't the biggest, half of Erin's body was submerged in the ocean in order for her to duck lower. She wasn't used to the feeling of the ocean at all.
-
"They probably won't notice me, I'm more worried bout you" Aril whispered to Rin. He knew how to hide under the water, but he didn't know how long Rin could hold out in water with her being a harpy and always flying.
-
Erin giggles at Aril. "Sorry, sorry," She says, realizing how rude she probably seemed. "This is, like, a normal Tuesday for me. I like living life on the edge. I haven't gotten caught yet, you have nothing to worry about," Erin reassures.
-
"Why you sorry? If this is just about everyday for you, you must be great at avoiding them." Aril said, in a somewhat reasurring voice, trying to assure him if anything about this whole situation

"Oh.. yeah, totally," Erin bluffed. She didn't mention that all of those times she avoided them that she was close to be caught multiple times. "Quick storytime: There's this greek tale about a guy named Phineas. They say harpies would steal his food as a punishment for him using his prophecy powers to tell people too specific futures. That was actually me. I saw him being rude to people so I stole his stuff for like a solid month and told him it was punishment from the gods," Erin giggled, remembering this story from a year ago.
