Someone tried to snipe Annabelle with an arrow, but Hunter moved in front of it and caught it with his shield. "Guess this does come in handy," He muttered. "You three orcs, come here. You're tall enough to shield Annabelle!" He commanded while the battle raged on.
-
The three orcs came closer and helped shield Annabelle. After a while, the mystic pool was finally completely corrupted and it shone a purple light. The immediate area began changing from a nice, peaceful wood into a dark, decaying forest. As this happened, the fairies helped everyone evacuate before anything could happen to them. The battle was over, Annabelle had won.
-
"Yeeeaaah," Hunter said breathlessly when the battle finally ended. It had only lasted for a few minutes, but the elves and dwarves fought with a lot of intensity, and they had a different fighting style from the fairies that Hunter was used to. He ended up using the sword more than the bow, and his close proximity fighting prowess was showcased with how many bodies had piled at his feet.
-
Annabelle pulled her trident out from the pool and stepped out of it. She then said "This battle was fought hard, but we found the power within ourselves and pushed forward. And now, WE STAND TRIUMPHANT." And everyone cheered in agreement.
-
Hunter raised his weapons and joined in the chorus of cheers and applause. They were battered and had a few scrapes and bruises, but atleast the elves and dwarves fought honestly and didn't poison their weapons like those damned fairies did. "My queen, I propose that we raid the houses for supplies," Hunter said afterwards.
-
Annabelle said "That's a good idea. Search the houses and take everything that isn't nailed down. Then take the nailed stuff too." All the orcs and goblins nodded and began to go into the houses. Annabelle grabbed Hunter and said "Come on. Let's check this house." and she began pulling Hunter to a house near then that the orcs didn't enter.
-
Hunter followed after Annabelle. He smoothly plucked a rose from the flowerpot on a table near the entrance of the house. Hunter then waited till they were deeper inside to hand it to Annabelle. "Your reign is nigh, m'lady," He said with a charming smile.
-
Annabelle took the rose and turned it black with her magic. She said "It is, isn't it? Soon all of Avalonia shall be mine and no one will stop me. And I shall have the respect I deserve." Suddenly, there was a small noise. It sounded almost like crying.
-
When he heard the sound, Hunter stood ready. He moved his hand over he hilt of his sheathed sword in case anyone or anything was going to attack them. "Who's there?" Hunter demanded, pacing around the house suspiciously.
-
Annabelle followed the sound until she came to a closet. She opened the closet to find a terrified elf girl clutching a stuffed rabbit. She saw Annabelle and said "Please don't hurt me."
-
"What're you still doing here?" Hunter asks with disapproval at sight of the elf girl. He didn't think he should bloody his hands by murdering a child, but they couldn't very well send her back to her parents with an apology note and a big bow.
-
The girl said "I don't know. My parents threw me in here. They were about to get the whip when the alarm sounded. I just stayed in here."
-
"Get the whip? Were you being punished for something?" Hunter asked, now more curious. He glanced at Annabelle to gauge her reaction to the situation.
-
The girl nodded and Annabelle asked "For what?" The girl answered "I don't know. Sometimes they just get mad and punish me."
-
"How old are you, kid?" Hunter asked with pity. It seemed like she was being mistreated. It reminded him too much of when Annabelle was younger.
