Gwen couldn't help but to partake in Rowena's antics, she got up and danced with her. They did a little jig, a few spins. The tension in the air, the guilt of killing a possibly innocent man, it all melted away into the melody.
Gwen eventually grew tired and sat down so that someone else would have a chance to dance in the small cart. -
Jord got up and did a few cool footwork dances, not an easy task when he was also playing the lyre and providing the tune. Everyone cheered for him as he did a bow and sat back down.
Jord sits by the front window so that Ma'Tonzi can enjoy the music as well. -
Ma'Tonzi did indeed hear the music and she laughs as she zooms down the road. She would've done a little dance herself, but already she was growing tired of flying at this speed for the last half hour or so.
Luckily, Ragno wasn't far. She just needed to hold out a little while longer.
Gosh, everyone had better get her something as a reward for doing this while they danced and sang.
(I don't think I've mentioned this since it doesn't count as a power, but if you consume Ma'Tonzi or one of her petals, you'll die because her body is poisonous. Not really a power because it only works if she kamikazes herself) -
When Rowena, Jord, and Gwen finished dancing, they all looked at Quill, expectantly. He began muttering many excuses about why and how he couldn't dance and he refused to dance, but Rowena plops down onto her knees and gives him a pleading look.
"Song's almost over," Rowena says warningly. Quill sighs and stands up. "You owe me an all access pass to that library of yours," Quill says. He doesn't exactly know what to do, so he starts stiffly. Rowena grabs him by the hands and they start swinging around, which surprises him. He'd never get over how insanely cheerful and inspiring this fae was. -
"I'm looking for a lost cause, I suppose," Faber says with a sad chuckle. The woman puts a hand on Faber's shoulder, which instead of acting as a comforting gesture makes Faber extremely tense and on alert.
"You shouldn't be here. I foresaw you with a group. Are you too early? Are you too late?" The woman asks, but mostly to herself. Faber is now officially confused. "Excuse me?" Faber asks. "Follow me," the woman says, turning and walking down a dark alley between the butcher shop and another place. Faber goes over the pros and cons of making such a decision, but ultimately decided that they could take on an old lady if need be, even a crazy one. Faber walks into the darkness, intending to get answers. -
Rowena stops spinning Quill around, now she was thoroughly tired. She plops down and the cart resides to silence as Jord finishes the upbeat song. The silence is almost in itself a sound, it's deafening.
"Hey Monz, no rush or anything, you're doing awesome, but what's the update on time?!" Rowena calls out loudly. Ma'Tonzi says, "Few more minutes!" And it's barely audible over the horses' clacking but that was probably the loudest she could muster. Rowena nods. -
Gwen has to resist falling asleep. It was late, and already she missed the comfort of her bed. Rowena had confirmed that there was definitely an inn at Ragno, so atleast they'd sleep okay for tonight.
Rowena, however, didn't say how they were gonna find a path to the wizard. Did she have a map? What was her plan? Gwen couldn't help but worry about her sister. Gwendolith loved Tyrion just as much as she loved any of her other siblings, but was it worth putting both her and Rowena in such danger? -
Jord, being a musical genius that he was, and not enjoying silence much at all, began to play another tune. This one was slower, calmer. Not something to dance to, but rather something for the road.
Jord tried to make it fast enough so no one would get sleepy, though. Even his own eyes draped a bit. -
Ma'Tonzi can see the lights of a town in her line of sight. It had to be Ragno! That is, if Rowena had told her right. You could never really tell with Rowena, she was awfully unpredictable.. but, in a good way.
She was just so likeable. Rowena had managed to get them all together, even though they were all from different backgrounds. It might sound cheesy, but Ma'Tonzi supposed that it was destiny that they were going on this quest. -
Quill taps his finger along to the beat. There he goes, fidgeting. It was innate at this point. He couldn't even take out his notebook and take notes on anything, since the cart was too shaky.
Quill considered everyone here an enemy. Except Rowena. Rowena begged Quill to be on neutral terms with them and to.. y'know.. not murder anyone. He was an ex-assassin. He was an outcast. Quill could tell no one here trusted him much either, but he didn't care.
Quill sighs and closes his eyes, trying to clear his overactive mind and focusing on the sounds around him. -
Okay so very sorry, but I'm lazy so I'm gonna give a quick recap for Faber's turn.
Faber follows lady into alleyway, lady tranforms into Rita, Faber is all like "How could this be?! Who are you?" And Faber pulls out a knife on Rita, right at her throat. Rita's all like "Here to help. Clairvoyant. Witch- Yada yada yada", so Faber's like: "O-k den," and everything's gucci now.
They're at Rita's place. -
The carriage begins slowing, which worries Rowena a lot. She stands up and looks out, but she doesn't spot the familiar glow of Ma'Tonzi. Holy crap, did the horses finally eat her?! She is about to shout, but then Gwen grabs her shoulder.
Rowena looks away from the front window and sees that Ma'Tonzi is fine, she came in from the side window and is resting on Jord's head. Rowena was too focused on being worried for Ma'Tonzi that she just now noticed that they had reached Ragno. -
Gwen was relieved that they had reached the town. She grabs Rowena's shoulder, she was obviously very worried about her fairy friend and she didn't seem to notice that she came in already. Rowena visibly relaxes when she spots the fairy.
Gwen couldn't help but smile a little. Rowena still had a long way to go, and she wasn't all that mature, but she had a great heart. Nothing could stop Rowena from caring about people, or from helping them the best that she could. There wasn't a single thing in this realm that could dampen Rowena's good spirits.
(Take a moment to note how contradictory this sounds to the current Arwyn. Taken? Noted? Okay. Carry on.) -
Jord stands, but tries to be careful with balance. He knew that Ma'Tonzi had taken a liking there, and he didn't mind. Jord could've said something, but he usually didn't speak much for fear of damaging his vocal vords.
Anyways, on a side note; He's freaking terrified. Jord hadn't traveled much, and he doesn't know what to expect in this new place. This whole quest idea freaked him out, but up till this point he had been playing calm and cool. -
Ma'Tonzi's wings were tired, so almost as soon as they reached the edge of the town, she ducks back into the cart and onto Jord's hair. She nestles down and she badly wants to go to sleep, but she knew she needed to stay up.
Rowena walks towards her and says, "Thanks so much, Monz! I'll buy you a whole roll of that banana bread you like!"
"You better!" Ma'Tonzi says with a grin. She doesn't have to shout like she usually does to be heard, Rowena could read her lips. That was just one of the many reason Ma'Tonzi liked Rowena so much.
